I am a 17-year-old high school senior, born in Hollywood, FL and a proud student-athlete, that has played club soccer for several years and current high school soccer team captain. I’ve grown up in a Christian household where faith, service, and perseverance are core values, that guide how I live and treat others. Being both a student and an athlete-has taught me discipline, time management, and accountability. As captain, I’ve learned how to lead by example, encourage my teammates, and stay composed under pressure. My beliefs have shaped my faith, my personal development, and my commitment toward having a moral compass of doing unto others as I would like done to myself. I plan to pursue higher education because I see college/university as the next step toward building a meaningful and stable future for myself. I can serve others and create opportunities not only for myself but for my community as well. My inspiration comes from watching the sacrifices my family has made and from the various mentors in my life — including extended family, coaches and friends. In different aspects I value the importance in which education and leadership builds character. As part of my college/university experience, I would like to pursue a field where I can combine leadership, communication, and service; to guide and uplift others. College represents more than just a degree to me — it represents preparation toward having an impact within the community I serve. My academic interest is to either pursue Kinesiology, Physical Therapy or Sports Science. Being involved as a soccer player has given me the opportunity and interest to learn more about these fields of study. After I graduate, I hope to make a positive difference in my community by mentoring younger students and athletes; promoting education, and being a role model based on integrity and faith-based leadership. I want to be known as someone who gives back, supports youth development, and helps to create strong team and community environments wherever I go. Just as leaders and mentors have invested in me, I plan to invest in others. My goal is not only personal success, but community impact — using my education, leadership experience, and values to serve and inspire the next generation. In the future, I would want to return to schools and youth programs to share practical knowledge about college, careers, and entrepreneurship so students can see clear pathways forward. Representation matters, and I intend to lead in a way that shows others what is possible. By combining education, leadership, and service, I hope to not only succeed in my field but also help build a stronger and more inclusive pipeline for the next generation. By having the capability to gain life experiences as a young adult, I hope that I can have a positive impact on others. Especially for those individuals that are in need of an academic development. Finally, my motivation comes from seeing how access to resources and education can change a family’s future, and I want to be in a position where I can help open those doors for others.

I am a 17-year-old high school senior from Florida, born in Hollywood, and a student-athlete who serves as captain of my soccer team. Growing up as a BIPOC student, I’ve learned early that opportunity and access are not always equal, and that success often requires persistence, discipline, and community support. Being a team captain has helped shape my leadership style — focused on accountability, encouragement, and leading by example. Balancing academics, athletics, faith, and service has taught me time management and resilience, and these qualities are what I will carry with me into college and my career. I plan to pursue a degree in business because I’m interested in leadership, financial literacy, and creating opportunities that strengthen communities. I’m drawn to business as a field where strategy and service can work together — where smart decisions and ethical leadership can directly improve people’s lives. I want to gain the knowledge and tools to build and support organizations that are both successful and socially responsible. My motivation comes from seeing how access to resources and education can change a family’s future, and I want to be in a position where I can help open those doors for others. In the future, I plan to make my field more accessible by mentoring younger BIPOC students, supporting financial and business education programs, and being active in community outreach. I want to return to schools and youth programs to share practical knowledge about college, careers, and entrepreneurship so students can see clear pathways forward. Representation matters, and I intend to lead in a way that shows others what is possible. By combining education, leadership, and service, I hope to not only succeed in my field but also help build a stronger and more inclusive pipeline for the next generation. Furthermore, after I graduate, I hope to make a positive difference in my community by mentoring younger students, promoting education, and being a role model based on integrity and positive leadership. I want to be known as someone who gives back, support youth development, and helps to create beneficial community environments. Just as leaders and mentors have invested in me, I plan to invest in others. My goals are only for personal success, but community impact — using my education, leadership experience, and values to serve and inspire the next generation. By keeping to these guiding principles I can continue to improve on the odds of being successful in the business industry.

Soccer has been one of the biggest influences that has shaped who I am today; both on and off the field. I was born in Hollywood, Florida, and have been associated with this sport my entire life. It has been my way of keeping active, and then it has became a passion for me. Through all the years of practice, games, and tournaments, I have learned discipline and dedication. Juggling practice, games, and homework was all about learning how to use my time wisely and stay focused on what I want to achieve in life. Through good times and bad, soccer has been there, teaching me to stay positive and continue being a better person, even when things were not going well. As a senior and captain of my high school soccer team, leadership has become one of the most important parts of my experience. Being captain has showed me that leadership is about more than skill — it’s about responsibility, communication, and setting the tone for others. I work to keep my teammates motivated, and make sure everyone feels included and respected. I lead by example through effort and attitude, and I try to be someone my teammates can rely on. This role has helped me develop confidence, teamwork, and decision-making skills that I know will help me in college and beyond. My involvement in soccer has also strengthened my sense of purpose and service. Helping with youth clinics and community sports activities showed me how important it is to encourage and mentor younger players. I’ve learned patience, accountability, and how to positively impact others through my actions. Soccer has shaped me into being disciplined, supportive, and a driven person. Which continues to guide how I approach challenges and opportunities as a young adult. These are a few of the important lessons that I’ve learned from the sport. The important aspects of teamwork, leadership, and dedication — are the values that I plan to carry into my future. In conclusion, soccer has been more than an extracurricular activity for me — it has been the foundation for my personal growth and leadership. It has taught me how to push through challenges, support others, and represent something bigger than myself. From being a young player in Hollywood, FL to becoming a team captain in Tampa, FL; I’ve learned that true leadership is built through effort, integrity, and service. I will continue to carry these values into college and beyond, using what I’ve learned through soccer to positively impact every team and community I’m a part of.

Having the opportunity to travel and potentially work in a different country would be a life changing experience. Being able to see the world and experience another part of the this earth we live in brings awareness. It allows for the ability to learn from different people and cultures. Traveling internationally also helps to shape my moral compass, and being respectful to other beliefs. This is important to me as a young adult, and I value being able to connect with my peers who are from different backgrounds. The places that I have been fortunate to view so far outside of the U.S. is Bahamas and Jamaica. While visiting both of the countries, I enjoyed the beaches, food, and the atmosphere amongst the locals. The aspect of traveling is that I enjoyed is the architectural layout of the airports, city centers in comparison to the rural areas. Some places having historical significance and learning the history of a country. As for the interest with having the opportunity to work in a different country, I would definitely appreciate having this type of experience in my life. This would offer me the capability to learn professional skill sets, administrative processes and a way to generate a meaningful income. By having a career in a different country, I will most likely would like to learn a different language. The language that I learned as a part of my high school education was French. As for the aspect of learning a different language, if this is a part of the job opportunity I would definitely be open to learning a new language, such as Spanish for example. I think that by learning a new language you become more marketable and can communicate with people from different countries; who speak that language. I also believe that by learning a different language, it provides me that ability to become more fluent in that language. To conclude, traveling and being able to work in a foreign country, is a beneficial experience when given the opportunity to obtain a professional career. Also be learning a new language, it provides the ability to communicate more proficiently with groups of people. Finally, having the capability to understand various cultures and backgrounds, allows me to grow in my career as a professional. This furthermore, allows me to meet and interact with individuals from other parts of the world; and being able to form meaningful relationships.
