Grief is a force so immense, that it became the overwhelming feeling that shaped my mental health journey. The profound sense of loss left by my mother's absence echoed through every facet of my existence. Coping with the grief was not just a matter of mourning her passing; it was a transformative experience that influenced the lens through which I viewed the world and my mental health. The struggles of grief and mental health forged a set of beliefs that continue to guide my actions and decisions. Chief among them is the unwavering conviction in the importance of checking on those around me. My goal is to be what I always needed in my toughest moments. My experiences have instilled a profound sense of responsibility to create environments that foster resilience, impart coping mechanisms, and instill a sense of security in their formative years. Contemplating my future, my experiences have inspired a career path in entrepreneurship. For me, entrepreneurship is not merely a means to generate profit; it is a vehicle for change. I aspire to innovate solutions that make people feel secure, addressing not only economic concerns but also the broader spectrum of societal challenges that impact mental well-being. Leadership and entrepreneurship are essential for advancing society and the economy. Unfortunately, Black women are underrepresented in these fields and face particular obstacles that limit their ability to achieve. Therefore, it is crucial to research methods for inspiring and empowering Black women to launch businesses and assume leadership positions. One key strategy is to provide mentorship and role models. Many Black women do not have access to successful business people or executives in their neighborhoods who might offer advice and support as they pursue entrepreneurship or high-profile positions. Programs that connect Black women with successful executives and company owners can offer them insightful information, counsel, and support. Through mentoring, Black women can successfully navigate their job paths, overcome obstacles, and form empowering connections. Offering financial assistance is another essential tactic. The cost of starting a business or pursuing a successful career tends to be substantial. Black female entrepreneurs can overcome financial obstacles and launch companies by being given finance and other resources. Black women, who may have more trouble acquiring finance due to institutional racism and gender bias, need access to funding that can help them get the education required to achieve high-paying jobs. In addition, essential to enabling Black women to succeed as businesswomen and leaders, are education and training. Creating opportunities for education and training can give Black women the information and abilities they need to excel in entrepreneurship and high-powered careers. Programs that provide business education, leadership development, and other pertinent skills can assist Black women in acquiring the knowledge and confidence necessary for success. Black women who have access to education and training can overcome institutional obstacles, acquire useful skills and experience, and create supporting networks. Promoting the entrepreneurship and leadership of Black women also requires addressing institutional hurdles. Black women encounter systemic barriers in society that can make it more challenging for them to launch enterprises or hold high-ranking positions. To foster a more equal and encouraging environment for Black female entrepreneurs and leaders, it is critical to address these obstacles, including discrimination, a lack of financing, and bias in recruiting and promotion. Anti-discrimination laws, workplace diversity initiatives, and racial wealth disparity reduction can all contribute to making a more welcoming and equal environment for Black women. Finally, elevating Black women as leaders and entrepreneurs requires the creation of networks and communities. Building networks and communities of Black female leaders and entrepreneurs can give them a sense of belonging and support as they deal with the difficulties of running their own businesses and achieving high levels of success. Programs that facilitate networking, peer mentorship, and other community-building activities could help Black women in establishing trusting bonds with people who have similar experiences and interests. In conclusion, encouraging Black women to launch businesses and assume leadership positions is important for advancing social and economic advancement. Empowering Black women as entrepreneurs and leaders requires a variety of factors, including mentoring, financial support, education and training, removing institutional barriers, and creating networks and communities. By putting these tactics into practice, we can improve the environment for Black women, removing systemic obstacles and fostering possibilities for achievement.

Mental health is such an important part of life, human society, and well-being. It can have a positive or negative effect on your life. Thus it is the biggest factor in any human’s development and affects overall health. Do not confuse mental health to be a straightforward thing, it is complex and takes practice to understand. Your mindset can better any situation depending on how efficient it is. Many factors can affect this. When individuals are adjusting and there is no way for us to control things, for example changing places, communities, friends, family, it takes a toll on you. It is hard on your soul when we do not take time to process unpleasant and sudden situations. I say all this to express that my mental health has been one of my biggest struggles, and very inconsistent over the years. However, I always try my best to overcome this obstacle. Whereas this means me taking care of my mental health and taking time to think, sit, and process things that are going on in my life. My earliest memory of dealing with my mental health was in middle school. I was bullied, and I learned a lot from the experience. It truly has changed me in a positive light. At the time I felt nothing good would come from the situation. All I felt was hopeless, isolated, and overbore with hateful thoughts. I cannot give you a reason as to why they bullied me or what they hated about me. Yet I understood them because I once was them. I unknowingly was a bully, and here I am dealing with what I may have made others feel. It should have never happened, but I consider it as a part of life. At 12, this affected my mental health. It developed from me not wanting to go to class, to it being difficult to get out of bed, and eventually not wanting to live anymore. Sadly, this is the case for many young teens across America coping with bullying, among other serious mental health issues. This situation has caused me to be depressed and to doubt my self-worth. From this, I have gone on and became self-conscious which caused me to struggle with feelings of depression, anxiety, and coming to discover an eating disorder I have struggled with since my early childhood. I have asked for help in the past and oftentimes I have received negative comments that reflect that I don’t matter, nothing serious has been going on in my life since I was so young, and that I have no reason to be feeling the way I feel. People’s feelings are minimized and that adds to the problem. We often ignore mental health in the black community. Young people in the black community are shown that their feelings are not valued and told that they do not have real struggles or problems because they are young. This disregard for our feelings and emotions causes teens to not want to open up. We feel unheard and put down when opening up to others. The black community as a whole has been exposed to so much trauma from our elders to our babies. We should be looking out for our brothers and sisters in the same way that we look out for ourselves. My ultimate goal is to always be a listening ear to young people like me in the future. I want to help others who are going through things that I have gone through. I have not fully resolved all of my mental health issues, but I continue to learn how to develop as a person. My journey with mental health has made my relationship with God stronger and showed me how much I need Him. The only consistent thing in my life has been God’s grace and strength. My journey has encouraged me to be a better friend and bigger support in my relationships. Having difficulties in my mental health made me want things more. It showed me I can achieve anything because I have battled the worst war within myself. My struggles have beaten me down to nothing and built me to be more determined than ever. If I can do this, then I can do all that I set my mind to do out in the world.
