Andrea N. Santore Scholarship
Growing up, I watched my dad endure more struggles than anyone should have to face. He’s fought coronary artery disease, survived prostate cancer, and now lives with heart failure. Despite his declining health, he has always done everything in his power to take care of me and my brothers, even while living on disability. His strength, love, and determination have shaped me into who I am today, but watching him suffer has also taught me valuable lessons about resilience, humility, and the importance of family.
We didn’t have much. I wore old clothes without complaint, never asked for anything extra, and helped out whenever I could. My dad’s dream was always to own and manage a family business, but his health made it impossible. Instead, he poured everything he had into giving us the best life he could, even when it meant sacrificing his own dreams. Now that his heart is failing and his time is limited, I feel a deep responsibility to carry on his dream—not just for him, but for my future family as well.
That’s why I’ve chosen to pursue a degree in business management. For me, this career path is more than just a way to build a future; it’s a way to honor my dad’s legacy and ensure his sacrifices weren’t in vain. I want to create a family business that provides stability and opportunities for the people I love. More importantly, I want to build a life where my children never have to experience the kind of uncertainty I did growing up—never having to wonder where their next meal will come from or whether we’ll be able to keep the lights on.
Getting this degree will open doors for me that my family has never had access to before. It will give me the knowledge and skills to turn my dad’s dream into reality while creating a better future for myself and my loved ones. This scholarship would ease the financial burden of pursuing my education and allow me to focus on what really matters—building a better life.
I’m determined to make a difference, not just for my family but for others who have faced similar struggles. This opportunity would bring me one step closer to making that vision a reality. With your support, I can continue to push forward, honor my dad, and build a brighter future, with this opportunity I will be successful enough to pay it forward.
