In the face of escalating climate crises, mandatory action and legislation against climate change is not only necessary, but an urgent imperative. Last winter in the Midwest we experienced the most dramatic winter I've seen since I was young. I know this is due to the changing climate creating more exaggerated weather. Although I'm aware of what this means a part of me is glad that my younger brother and other young children will be able to experience heavy snow and a typical Ohio winter at least once in their lives. Without international cooperation and swift action the future generations of our children will never get snow days, or play in the snow, or see a white Christmas. Climate change understands no borders or territorial lines, this is why it is so important to join together to preserve the world for the future as a collective. On an individual level I have been discouraged by the dire state of the world and the seemingly hopeless circumstances, I have realized that inaction has caused me to become stagnant in my efforts and joining Environmental club refreshes me and my fellow classmates. This is proof of the idea that cooperating with each other creates hope. Hope fuels change and change will create better futures.
