Bio

As an undergraduate my life goals are to become an educator and counselor and to help people better understand themselves in life. I want to encourage people to always put their best foot forward and to never settle. I want to be able to be there for students who don't have anyone else for them. My goals in life are to become someone in which others can admire and look up too. I feel as if I'm a great candidate because I have the desire to be better the mind frame and not only that I want better as well as need better. I am working forward to making my dream a reality. I believe that me wanting to get out here and give it my all-sweat pain and tears and fight until I can't fight anymore to be the very best me that I can be is what makes me a great candidate. I won't give up because giving up is no longer a part of me.

My name is Angel Windless, I attend Walden University, I was born and raised in the state of Mississippi. I now resign in the state of Texas. The area of study is which I choose is psychology. I chose this area of study because as long as I can remember it's been a dream of mine to help others. I was studying elementary education because I wanted to help students but again was looking for a way to help others. After my fiancée' passed away I took a semester of just to reflect upon life and yet again was thinking of ways to help others though my pain. Upon coming back to school, I changed my major and knew for sure I wanted to study psychology and become a counselor and help students as well as peers. I want to be the person in which they can talk to and want the office in which I work in to be known as a safe place. I want students and peers to look at me as the person they know they can count on through the good, bad and all. As a counseling psychologist I will be able help people understand that it's okay to not be okay. because often in life people feel as if they're in the wrong for having a bad day. and I want to teach students and peers that's it's okay not to be okay. long as you don't stay down. I plan on using my education to make a different at school which is my workplace by becoming one of the greatest counselors that's ever walked through the doors of this school. I will be listening ears to the students and workers. I want to bring those students to the light that hide in the dark those who are afraid to receive help but need it. I want to be the one that show these people they still have a lot of light left in them and that they can still shine bright. I know that I will make a difference in the world because I will save lives. those who think about giving up I will be there to teach them that giving up isn't an option. I will be able to help those who aren't able to help themselves, and when they feel weak, I will be their strength. I believe that with my education I will make a difference in world and workplace by teaching people to keep going and not give up because it's never too late.
    Anne DiSerafino Memorial Arts Scholarship
What drives my passion for art is the desire to make others smile. Through my artwork I like to create stories and I paint with a lot of feeling. I like to create artwork that will get people minds wondering, but not only that artwork that warms the heart. What also drives my passion for art is how calming it is. I think that art is a great way to release excess pain, trauma, and things that we are afraid to let go of. I've very passionate about being an artist, although some don't think of being an artist as much to me it is everything and more. To be able to bring thing one's deepest desire to life on a piece of paper is everything and more. I am able to bring my imagination to life using my thoughts and creativity. I am able to inspire other people with my artwork and inspire myself as well. I am well known by many for my artwork and one day will be beyond well known for my artwork. I am able to do things that others dream of doing and I love it. I have been drawing since I was child. This scholarship will help me pursue my passion in so many ways. I'll be able to continue my degree without having to drop out of school from not being able to afford it. I'll also be able to obtain the materials in which I need in order to continue creating amazing artwork. I want to be able to give others the gift that I have. I was blessed with drawing hands and would love to continue blessing others with my outstanding and breathtaking artwork. Obtaining this scholarship would be like a dream come truth, it would be as if I would a piece of a prize that places me closer to my dreams. As people we are told that dreams don't come true too often and this scholarship will be a dream coming true. Art is who I am, painting is all I do rather it's on paper, canvas, walls, and more. I enjoy it and I enjoy being able to impress others with the art in which I create. I'm driven to be a better artist each and every day because without art there is no me. This scholarship will help me to continue being the very best me that I can be.
    Pro-Life Advocates Scholarship
I have experienced many things which have shaped my life in a pro-life position. I currently work with special educated students and upon taking this position I feel as if it's my job to speak for my students who can't speak. I believe that despite their disabilities they should be treated as regular humans. I try to teach the other students to treat everyone the same because love is love. what matters most is what's on the inside not outside real love comes from the inside not outside. Although we are all born differently and looked different doesn't mean we should be treated any different. we are all given a choice to be who we want to be in life. although we are born and can be molded by those around us as we grow older, we can change into better or worst. There was a time in which I experienced racism and it was the saddest moment of my life. it was hurtful to know that I was seen for my skin and not my heart. the person judges me by saying African Americans are dumb and most to the system either on drugs or in prison. I was able to accept her words with an open heart and was able to look over her words and still give out love. I was hurt within the moment but was able to take the situation and use it to make me stronger. everything happens for a reason, and this was a situation that made me push more to advocate for those who cannot speak for themselves. I believe in equality and that life is much deeper than just living it's about what are you living for. everyone plays a part on this earth rather its good or bad so why not be remembered for as someone who made a different in life.
Harvey and Geneva Mabry Second Time Around Scholarship
What inspired me to return back to school, was wanting to be in the education field and the joy of wanting to teach younger children. I had started off in education and coming upon my second to last year in school the love of my life passed away. With things happening so suddenly I took 6 weeks off took some time to reflect, grieve, and rebuild myself. I return to school and switch majors to psychology, luckily all my credits were transferred overed. I realized i wanted to teach and be just the set of listening ears students and peers need. I want to be a counselor, one of my major reasons of returning back to school is the joy of knowing that somewhere in life i was able to help someone else.

Giving Back to the Future Scholarship
My name Is Angel Windless, I was born and raised in small town called Marks Ms. I believe that giving back is important especially when you are from a small town. In the town I grew up in It was so much love and although I moved away, I took that love with me. I believe that in order to receive blessings it starts from giving. with my platform I plan on giving back to the community 3-5 years down the line by helping others once I get my degree. Counseling Is very important and it is something that growing up we are thought to believe that it is shameful to take. When I obtain my degree in psychology, I plan on becoming a counselor for the school in which I currently work at, I plan on teaching the students and peers around me that it's okay to get help. It's okay to not be okay and to get help to get on that path. Counseling doesn't necessary mean something is wrong with you and it's nothing to be embarrassed about.
