    Sabrina Carpenter Superfan Scholarship
I have been a fan of Sabrina Carpenter because of the way she has built a career that reflects confidence, creativity, and authenticity. What inspires me most about Sabrina is not only her talent as a singer, songwriter, and performer, but also her determination and resilience throughout her journey. Her success did not happen overnight. She spent years working hard, growing as an artist, and staying committed to her goals even when she was not always in the spotlight. Sabrina’s career has shown me the importance of believing in yourself and continuing to pursue your passions. She has faced challenges and criticism throughout her career, but she remained dedicated to improving her craft and creating music that represents who she is. Watching her transition from acting to becoming a successful global artist has reminded me that growth takes time and that every experience can help prepare you for future opportunities. As someone pursuing Business Management and Entrepreneurship with a minor in Sports Media, I admire Sabrina’s ability to build a strong personal brand while staying true to herself. She has created a connection with her audience through storytelling, creativity, and authenticity. Her career has taught me that success is not just about talent, but also about understanding your audience, taking risks, and being willing to evolve. Beyond her career, I appreciate Sabrina’s confidence and the way she encourages others to embrace who they are. Her music has been a source of joy and motivation for me, especially during stressful moments. Her journey reminds me that setbacks do not determine your future and that persistence can turn dreams into reality. Sabrina Carpenter has impacted me by showing me that it is possible to pursue multiple passions and create a career that reflects your personality and values. She has inspired me to continue chasing my own goals in business, media, and entrepreneurship while remembering the importance of staying authentic along the way.

During my college journey, I have learned that challenges do not define a person, but the way they respond to those challenges does. The obstacles I have faced have shaped me into a stronger, more determined individual and have taught me the importance of perseverance, gratitude, and resilience. One of the greatest challenges I have faced during school has been balancing my education, personal responsibilities, and the financial uncertainty my family has experienced. Although these circumstances have been difficult, they have motivated me to work harder, appreciate every opportunity, and continue pursuing my goals. My family has always been my greatest source of inspiration. Growing up, my parents instilled in me the importance of hard work, responsibility, and never giving up when things become difficult. They have always encouraged me to chase my dreams and make the most of every opportunity I receive. However, during my college experience, my family faced a major challenge when my father became medically retired after suffering injuries that prevented him from continuing to work. My father had always been someone who worked hard to support our family, so watching him lose the ability to work was incredibly difficult. With my father no longer able to provide an income, my mother became the sole working parent in my household. This change brought many challenges, especially when it came to affording my education. The financial pressure placed a significant amount of stress on my family, and there were moments when I questioned whether continuing my education would be possible. It was difficult knowing that my parents were making sacrifices to help me pursue my goals while also managing their own challenges. However, instead of allowing those circumstances to discourage me, I used them as motivation. I reminded myself that earning my degree was not only an investment in my future but also a way to honor everything my parents have done for me. Overcoming these challenges required me to become more independent and proactive. As a first generation college student, I have had to learn how to navigate many aspects of higher education while finding opportunities to grow academically and professionally. I have learned to ask for help when needed, seek out resources, and continue moving forward even when the path feels uncertain. These experiences have strengthened my confidence and have shown me that difficult moments can become opportunities for growth. Despite the challenges my family and I have faced, I have remained committed to my education and my involvement within my community. At Susquehanna University, I am pursuing degrees in Business Management and Entrepreneurship with a minor in Sports Media. I chose these areas because I want to build a career that allows me to combine leadership, creativity, communication, and my passion for connecting with others. My experiences have shown me that successful leaders are not only driven by ambition but also by their ability to support and inspire those around them. Throughout my time at Susquehanna, I have worked hard academically while becoming involved in organizations that reflect my values. I have been recognized for my academic achievements through the Dean’s List, and I continue to challenge myself both inside and outside of the classroom. I serve as a Global Business Perspectives Coach, where I help support other students as they develop important skills in teamwork, communication, and leadership. This role has allowed me to grow as a mentor while learning the importance of collaboration and encouragement. I am also a member of Kappa Delta, an organization that has provided me with opportunities to build meaningful relationships, strengthen my leadership abilities, and participate in service. Through Kappa Delta, I have been surrounded by individuals who encourage me to become the best version of myself while reminding me of the importance of community and giving back. Service has always been an important part of who I am. Through my involvement with Prevent Child Abuse America, I have participated in fundraising efforts, tabling events, and awareness campaigns to support the organization’s mission of preventing child abuse and creating safer environments for children and families. I have also worked with the Girl Scouts by participating in events that encourage confidence, leadership, and personal growth among young girls. These experiences have shown me that helping others does not always require a large action. Sometimes, making a difference begins with simply showing up, listening, and offering support. My passion for storytelling and communication has also grown through my work as a sports writer for *The Quill*, Susquehanna University’s student newspaper. Covering university athletics has allowed me to connect with student athletes and share their stories with the campus community. This experience has strengthened my writing skills and confirmed my interest in pursuing a career that combines sports media, business, and communication. I believe I should be considered for this scholarship because I have demonstrated determination, leadership, and a commitment to making a positive impact despite facing challenges. My experiences have taught me that success is not defined by the obstacles we encounter, but by the effort we put forward and the character we build along the way. I have learned to appreciate every opportunity I receive because I understand the sacrifices that made those opportunities possible. Receiving this scholarship would provide meaningful support as I continue my education and work toward my future goals. It would help reduce the financial burden on my family and allow me to focus more fully on my academic, professional, and leadership growth. More importantly, it would remind me that hard work and perseverance are recognized and valued. The challenges my family and I have faced have shaped me into the person I am today. I carry my parents’ sacrifices with me, and I am determined to honor them by continuing my education, serving my community, and building a future that reflects the values they taught me. I hope to use my education to become an entrepreneur and leader who creates opportunities for others while making a meaningful difference in the world around me.
    Bick First Generation Scholarship
Being a first generation college student means carrying the hopes, sacrifices, and dreams of my family with me every day. It means being the first person in my immediate family to navigate the college experience and create a path that was not always clearly defined. While this journey has come with challenges, it has also given me a deep sense of purpose and motivation to make the most of every opportunity I receive. My college journey has not been without obstacles. One of the biggest challenges my family and I have faced has been financial uncertainty. My father, who has always been one of my greatest supporters, became medically retired after suffering injuries that prevented him from continuing to work. As a result, my mother became the sole working parent in my household. Watching my parents navigate these challenges has shown me the meaning of sacrifice, resilience, and determination. Their perseverance inspires me to continue pushing forward even when circumstances are difficult. As a first generation student, I have had to learn how to navigate many parts of college on my own, from understanding financial aid to finding opportunities that help me grow academically and professionally. There have been moments when the financial burden of higher education felt overwhelming, and I questioned whether continuing my education would be possible. However, I refused to let those challenges define my future. Instead, I have worked hard to take advantage of every opportunity available to me and prove that I belong. At Susquehanna University, I have dedicated myself to academic success, leadership, and service. I am pursuing degrees in Business Management and Entrepreneurship with a minor in Sports Media because I want to build a career that combines creativity, leadership, and my passion for connecting with others. I have grown as a leader through my involvement as a Global Business Perspectives Coach, a member of Kappa Delta, and a sports writer for *The Quill*, where I cover university athletics. These experiences have helped me develop communication, teamwork, and problem solving skills that will prepare me for my future goals. My dream is to become an entrepreneur and create something meaningful that positively impacts others. I hope to one day own and operate my own business while continuing to explore my passion for sports media and storytelling. I want to build a career where I can lead with integrity, create opportunities for others, and encourage people who may face challenges similar to my own. Receiving this scholarship would provide more than financial assistance. It would help ease the financial pressure on my family and allow me to focus more fully on my education, leadership opportunities, and professional growth. Being a first generation student has taught me that success is not about having a perfect path; it is about perseverance, gratitude, and the willingness to keep moving forward. I carry my family’s sacrifices with me, and I am determined to honor them by continuing my education and using my opportunities to make a difference.

Community has always been one of the most important influences in my life. I have learned that strong communities are not created by one person alone, but by individuals who choose to show up, support others, and make a difference in the lives of those around them. Through my involvement in service, leadership, and campus organizations, I have worked to contribute to the communities I am part of while learning the importance of compassion, connection, and giving back. One of the most meaningful ways I have served my community is through my involvement with Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA). Through fundraising efforts, tabling on campus, and raising awareness for the organization’s mission, I have helped support efforts to create safer environments for children and families. This experience has shown me that even small actions can have a significant impact when people come together behind a shared purpose. Advocacy and service are not always about making a visible change immediately; sometimes they are about starting conversations, educating others, and encouraging people to care about issues beyond themselves. I have also been involved with the Girl Scouts, where I have helped support events and activities focused on building confidence, leadership, and personal growth among young girls. Working with younger students has reminded me of the importance of having positive role models and supportive communities during important stages of development. I know firsthand how much encouragement from others can influence a person’s confidence, and I strive to be someone who helps others recognize their own potential. At Susquehanna University, I continue to build community through my involvement on campus. As a member of Kappa Delta, I have found a group of women who encourage me to grow as a leader while giving me opportunities to support others. Through my role as a Big Sister, I have been able to mentor and encourage younger members, helping them feel welcomed and connected. I have also served as a Global Business Perspectives Coach, where I help guide and support fellow students as they develop skills in teamwork, communication, and leadership. My work experiences have further strengthened my commitment to serving others. Working at Oak Lodge, a bed and breakfast and wedding venue, taught me the importance of creating meaningful experiences for people. Whether helping guests, assisting with events, or communicating with customers, I learned that community can be built through simple moments of kindness and hospitality. Making people feel welcomed and valued is one of the most powerful ways to strengthen relationships. These experiences have shaped my belief that leadership is not just about holding a title—it is about taking responsibility for the well-being of others. As I continue pursuing degrees in Business Management and Entrepreneurship with a minor in Sports Media, I hope to carry these values into my future career. Whether I am leading a business, working in sports media, or serving my community, I want to create environments where people feel supported and empowered. The communities that have supported me have played a major role in who I am today. Because of them, I understand the importance of giving back and helping others find the same sense of belonging and encouragement. I hope to continue building communities where people feel valued, connected, and inspired to make a difference.

Mental health has shaped who I am in ways that are both challenging and transformative. Throughout high school, I struggled with anxiety and depression, and for a long time, I felt like I was fighting a battle that no one else could see. While many people measured success by grades and accomplishments, I was simply trying to make it through each day. Looking back, I realize that my struggles did not define my potential, they simply made the path to reaching it more difficult. During high school, my anxiety often left me overwhelmed, making it difficult to focus in class or believe in my own abilities. Depression took away my motivation and confidence, and as a result, my grades suffered. Watching classmates succeed while I struggled academically was discouraging, and I often questioned whether I was capable of achieving the goals I had for myself. At the time, it was hard to imagine that my future could look any different. Everything began to change when I entered college. I made the decision to prioritize my mental health, ask for support when I needed it, and develop healthier habits that allowed me to succeed both academically and personally. The same determination that once helped me simply get through difficult days became the motivation that pushed me to excel in college. Today, I have earned a place on the Dean's List while balancing leadership positions, work, volunteer service, and involvement across campus. My college experience has shown me that mental health challenges do not determine a person's intelligence, work ethic, or ability to succeed. Living with anxiety and depression has also made me more compassionate. I understand that many people carry struggles that are invisible to others, and I have learned the importance of offering patience, kindness, and support without judgment. Whether I am mentoring younger students, volunteering in my community, or working with classmates, I try to create an environment where people feel seen and valued because I know how much that can mean to someone who is struggling. These experiences have influenced the person I hope to become professionally. As someone pursuing degrees in Business Management and Entrepreneurship with a minor in Sports Media, I want to lead with empathy as much as ambition. I believe strong leaders create workplaces where people feel supported, respected, and comfortable asking for help. Mental health should never be viewed as a weakness, and I hope to contribute to organizations that recognize employee well-being as an essential part of long-term success. Although anxiety and depression remain part of my story, they no longer control it. Instead, they have taught me resilience, perseverance, and the value of believing in myself even when life feels uncertain. My struggles have given me a deeper appreciation for every accomplishment and a stronger commitment to helping others feel less alone. Rather than holding me back, my experiences with mental health have become a source of strength, reminding me that growth is often born from our greatest challenges.
    Arthur and Elana Panos Scholarship
Faith has always been the foundation that keeps me grounded, especially during seasons of uncertainty. While I have always believed in God, my faith has grown stronger as I have faced challenges that tested my resilience, patience, and trust in His plan. Rather than giving me an easy path, my faith has given me the strength to keep moving forward when life has not gone as I expected. One of the biggest lessons my faith has taught me is that setbacks are not failures, they are opportunities for growth. Throughout college, I have balanced demanding coursework, leadership roles, work, and community involvement while navigating financial hardships that have often made me question how I would continue my education. There have been moments when the future felt uncertain, but each challenge has reminded me that God is faithful even when I cannot see the entire path ahead. Instead of allowing obstacles to define me, I have learned to approach them with perseverance, gratitude, and the confidence that every experience is preparing me for something greater. That perspective has shaped my entrepreneurial mindset. Entrepreneurship requires faith in more ways than one. It means believing in an idea before anyone else does, taking calculated risks, and having the courage to continue when success is not guaranteed. My faith has taught me that true success is not measured solely by profit or recognition but by the impact I have on others and the integrity with which I conduct myself. I want to build businesses that reflect honesty, compassion, and service because I believe those values create lasting success. My experiences working in hospitality and business have shown me how meaningful it is to create spaces where people feel welcomed, valued, and cared for. One day, I hope to own and operate my own business, combining my passion for entrepreneurship with my desire to create memorable experiences for others. Whether I am leading a team, serving customers, or making difficult business decisions, I want my faith to be evident in the way I treat people- with fairness, humility, and respect. I believe that every person deserves dignity and kindness, and those principles will always guide the way I lead. My faith also reminds me that success comes with responsibility. If I am blessed with opportunities, I want to use them to give back by supporting my community, mentoring future entrepreneurs, and creating opportunities for others to succeed. I believe God calls us not only to pursue our dreams but also to use our gifts to serve others. As I continue pursuing my education in business and entrepreneurship, I know there will be challenges ahead. However, I also know that my faith will continue to provide the courage to take risks, the wisdom to make ethical decisions, and the humility to remember that success is about far more than financial achievement. It is about building something meaningful, leading with integrity, and honoring God through the work I do every day.
    Andrea N. Santore Scholarship
I chose my career path because I have always been passionate about working with people, creating meaningful experiences, and telling stories that connect with others. Throughout my life, I have been drawn to leadership, communication, and opportunities where I can make an impact. As I began exploring my interests in college, I realized that combining business, sports media, and entrepreneurship would allow me to pursue the things I am most passionate about while building a career that fits my strengths. I am currently pursuing degrees in Business and Sports Media with a minor in Entrepreneurship at Susquehanna University. My interest in business comes from my love of creating ideas and turning them into something meaningful. I have always admired entrepreneurs who are able to build something from the ground up and create experiences that bring people together. My work at Oak Lodge, a bed and breakfast and wedding venue, has strengthened this interest because I have been able to see the behind the scenes of running an event-based business. From helping with weddings and communicating with guests to assisting with bookings, I have learned how important organization, leadership, and customer experience are in creating a successful business. My passion for sports media comes from my love of sports and storytelling. Growing up, sports were always an important part of my life, and I have enjoyed learning how stories behind athletes, teams, and organizations can inspire people. Through my work as a sports writer for The Quill and my interest in sports broadcasting, I have discovered how much I enjoy interviewing people, sharing stories, and being involved in the sports world. My goal is to continue building my skills in sports media and eventually pursue a career in sports broadcasting. Earning a degree in this field will impact my life by giving me the knowledge, skills, and experiences needed to achieve my goals. My education is preparing me to become a better communicator, leader, and professional. It is also giving me the opportunity to explore different career paths and combine my interests in a way that is unique to me. Whether I am working in sports media, managing a business, or creating my own company in the future, my degrees will provide me with the foundation I need to succeed. More importantly, my education represents the opportunity to build the future I have always imagined. I want a career where I can connect with people, be creative, and make a difference. The experiences I have gained through my classes, internships, and jobs have confirmed that I am on the right path. I am excited to continue growing and using my education to turn my passions into a successful career.

Growing up, sports were always a major part of my life. Volleyball was not just a hobby for me; it was something that taught me discipline, teamwork, leadership, and the importance of working toward a goal. I spent years dedicating myself to the sport, and I always imagined continuing to play throughout my high school career. However, my path changed when I was diagnosed with severe asthma, which eventually forced me to make the difficult decision to stop playing volleyball. Walking away from the sport I loved was one of the hardest experiences I have faced. Volleyball had been a huge part of my identity, and losing that part of my life was frustrating and emotional. I had to learn how to accept that my plans were changing while still finding a way to stay connected to something I cared deeply about. Instead of allowing this challenge to take away my love for sports, I found a new way to be involved. My experience with my disability helped lead me toward pursuing Sports Media. While I may not be able to compete on the court anymore, I can still be a part of the sports world by telling stories, highlighting athletes, and sharing the moments that make sports meaningful. Through my Sports Media studies and my work writing for The Quill, I have discovered how much I enjoy interviewing athletes, covering games, and helping others experience the excitement of sports. My disability changed the way I participate in sports, but it did not take away my passion for them. Having severe asthma has also shaped the way I approach challenges in my education and future career. It has taught me perseverance and reminded me that setbacks do not have to define my future. There were moments when I felt disappointed about having to give up volleyball, but I learned that sometimes challenges lead you toward opportunities you never expected. My experience has made me more determined, compassionate, and willing to adapt when things do not go according to plan. In school, I hope to continue growing my skills in sports media, business, and entrepreneurship. My goal is to build a career where I can combine my love for sports with my passion for storytelling and connecting with people. Whether I am working in sports broadcasting, media relations, or creating my own business in the future, I want to use my experiences to inspire others and show that obstacles do not have to limit what you can accomplish. My physical disability changed my journey, but it also helped shape who I am today. It taught me resilience, gave me a new perspective, and pushed me toward a career path that allows me to stay connected to the sport I love. I am grateful for the lessons it has taught me and the opportunities it has created as I continue working toward my goals.
    Barbara Cain Literary Scholarship
Books have always been more than just stories to me; they have been opportunities to learn, reflect, and better understand myself and the world around me. The books I have read have shaped the way I view challenges, relationships, and my future goals. My favorite books, including The Alchemist, Paulo Coelho, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Stephen Chbosky, and The Things We Leave Unfinished, Rebecca Yarros, have taught me lessons about purpose, empathy, resilience, and personal growth. The Alchemist has been the most influential books I have read because of its message about trusting your own journey. The book emphasizes that every person has a unique path and that the obstacles we encounter often help us discover who we are meant to become. This message has strongly influenced my goals as a student studying management and entrepreneurship. I have always been passionate about creating meaningful experiences, leading others, and building something that positively impacts people’s lives. Whether that is through entrepreneurship, hospitality, or another leadership opportunity, I want my future career to reflect my values and allow me to bring people together. The Alchemist has reminded me that success is not just about reaching a destination; it is about the growth and lessons gained throughout the journey. Perks of Being a Wallflower has shaped my understanding of empathy and the importance of recognizing that everyone has a story. The book highlights how people can experience struggles that are not always visible to others, which connects deeply to my own experiences with mental health. Living with OCD, depression, and anxiety has taught me that many people are fighting battles that others may never see. Because of this, I have become more aware of the importance of kindness, patience, and creating supportive environments where people feel comfortable being themselves. This lesson has influenced the way I approach my relationships and leadership roles. Through my involvement on campus, including my sorority, student organizations, and opportunities to mentor and work with other students, I have learned that leadership is not just about being in charge. True leadership means listening, encouraging others, and helping people recognize their own strengths. I hope to carry this mindset into my future career and become someone who makes others feel valued and supported. Things We Leave Unfinished taught me about resilience and embracing the uncertainty that comes with life. The book reminded me that not every part of our story is perfectly planned, and that some of our greatest growth comes from difficult experiences. Throughout my own life, I have learned that challenges do not have to define us; instead, they can help us become stronger and more determined. This perspective has encouraged me to approach new opportunities with courage and an open mind. The books I have read have shaped my goals by teaching me that success is about more than personal achievements. It is about purpose, relationships, and the impact we have on others. They have inspired me to pursue a future where I can combine my passions for entrepreneurship, leadership, and helping people. Most importantly, these books have reminded me that every person has a story worth understanding, and that the way we treat others can leave a lasting impact. As I continue my education and work toward my future goals, I hope to carry these lessons with me: to follow my dreams with confidence, lead with compassion, and continue learning from every chapter of my own story.

I have always been someone who values hard work, connection, and making a positive impact on the people around me. I am currently a college student pursuing my passions in management, entrepreneurship, and sports media while staying actively involved in my campus community. Through leadership opportunities, my involvement in my sorority, my work with student organizations, and my experiences supporting others, I have learned that the most meaningful accomplishments come from building relationships and helping people feel seen and valued. While many people know me as someone who is involved, motivated, and outgoing, my journey has also included challenges that are not always visible. I have experienced the effects of mental illness through my own struggles with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, and anxiety. Managing these conditions has shaped my perspective on life and taught me the importance of patience, self-awareness, and seeking support. There were times when my mental health made it difficult to feel confident in myself or fully enjoy the moments happening around me. OCD caused me to become overwhelmed by my thoughts, anxiety made me constantly worry about the future, and depression sometimes made even simple tasks feel exhausting. These experiences affected the way I viewed myself and interacted with the world. However, they also taught me that strength does not mean facing everything alone. With the support of my family, friends, and healthcare providers, I began taking medication to help manage my mental health. This decision has been an important part of my growth and has allowed me to better manage my symptoms, focus on my goals, and continue pursuing the activities that are meaningful to me. It has shown me that taking care of my mental health is just as important as taking care of my physical health. Mental illness has also affected my family by teaching us the importance of communication, understanding, and support. My family has been a source of encouragement throughout my journey, reminding me that I am not defined by my struggles. They have helped me understand that mental health challenges can affect anyone, regardless of their accomplishments, personality, or outward appearance. Having people who listen, support, and encourage me has made a tremendous difference in my ability to grow. Because of my experiences, I have become more aware of the struggles that others may be facing silently. I try to approach people with empathy because I know that someone’s actions or emotions may be influenced by challenges they are dealing with privately. My mental health journey has strengthened my desire to create supportive environments where people feel comfortable asking for help and being honest about what they are experiencing. Although mental illness has been a difficult part of my life, it has also shaped me into a more compassionate and determined person. It has influenced the way I lead, the way I build relationships, and the goals I hope to achieve in the future. I want to continue using my experiences to encourage conversations about mental health and remind others that seeking help is a sign of strength. My challenges have become a source of growth, resilience, and a deeper understanding of the importance of supporting one another.

My experience with mental health has shaped who I am as a person, the goals I have set for myself, and the way I connect with others. Living with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), depression, and anxiety has not always been easy, but it has taught me some of the most important lessons about resilience, compassion, and the importance of asking for help. Throughout my life, I have faced moments where my mental health made everyday challenges feel more difficult. OCD often caused me to become overwhelmed by my thoughts and focused on things I could not control. Anxiety made me question myself and worry about situations before they even happened, while depression affected my motivation and confidence. These challenges sometimes made me feel like I was carrying something others could not see. However, they also helped me develop a deeper understanding of myself and the struggles that many people experience silently. One of the most meaningful steps in my mental health journey was recognizing that I did not have to handle everything alone. With the support of my family, friends, and healthcare providers, I began taking medication to help manage my symptoms. Medication has allowed me to find more balance in my life, focus on my goals, and participate fully in the activities that are important to me. It has reminded me that seeking support is not a sign of weakness, but a responsible and courageous decision to take care of myself. My mental health experiences have had a significant impact on my goals, especially my desire to become a leader who prioritizes people. As a Management and Entrepreneurship student, I hope to build a career where I can create positive environments and make people feel valued. Whether I am working with a team, leading a business, or interacting with customers, I want to bring empathy and understanding into every space I enter. My experiences have shown me that successful leaders are not only focused on results but also on the well-being of the people around them. My involvement on campus has also been shaped by my mental health journey. Through my involvement in organizations such as Kappa Delta, my work as a Global Business Perspectives Coach, and my role as a student writer for The Quill, I have found communities where I can support others while continuing to grow myself. These experiences have taught me the importance of connection and how much a positive community can impact someone’s life. Being surrounded by people who encourage me has helped me become more confident, and I strive to provide that same support to others. My mental health journey has also influenced the way I view relationships. I have become more patient and understanding because I know that everyone is facing battles that may not be visible. I try to approach people with kindness because a simple conversation, gesture, or moment of encouragement can make a meaningful difference. My own experiences have strengthened my ability to listen, empathize, and create spaces where others feel comfortable being honest about their struggles. Ultimately, living with OCD, depression, and anxiety has shaped my understanding of the world by showing me the importance of compassion and acceptance. While these challenges are part of my story, they do not define me. Instead, they have helped me become a stronger, more determined, and more empathetic person. I hope to continue using what I have learned to advocate for mental health awareness, support those around me, and become a leader who recognizes the value of every individual.
Champions Of A New Path Scholarship
I do not believe I deserve this scholarship because I am better than every other applicant. I believe I deserve it because I have consistently made the most of every opportunity I have been given, even when the path has been difficult. My experiences have taught me resilience, determination, and the value of hard work—qualities that I carry with me into every classroom, job, and leadership role. Throughout college, I have balanced a demanding academic schedule with work and campus involvement. During the summer and school breaks, I work at Oak Lodge, where I have gained valuable experience in customer service, event coordination, and problem-solving. During the academic year, I dedicate my time to organizations that allow me to give back to my campus and community, while also maintaining a strong academic record. These experiences have strengthened my time management skills and reinforced my belief that success comes from consistent effort rather than circumstance. What sets me apart is my determination to keep moving forward despite financial obstacles. My family has faced significant financial hardship, making it increasingly difficult to afford college. Even after exploring loan options and financial assistance programs, paying for my education remains a challenge. Instead of allowing those obstacles to stop me, I have continued pursuing my degree while seeking every opportunity to earn scholarships, work, and remain actively involved in campus life. These experiences have motivated me to appreciate every opportunity I receive and never take my education for granted. I also believe my willingness to serve others distinguishes me. Whether I am raising awareness for Prevent Child Abuse America, volunteering with the Girl Scouts, mentoring fellow students, or representing my university through leadership opportunities, I strive to leave every organization stronger than I found it. I believe leadership is demonstrated through actions, not titles, and I work to make a positive impact wherever I can. Receiving this scholarship would do far more than ease a financial burden. It would allow me to continue focusing on my education, leadership experiences, and professional development rather than worrying about how I will afford another semester. My long-term goal is to build a successful career in business while continuing to serve my community and create opportunities for others. I cannot promise that I am the most deserving applicant, but I can promise that I will make the most of this investment. I have worked hard to earn every opportunity I have received, and this scholarship would help me continue pursuing my goals while allowing me to give back to others throughout my career.

My values are rooted in integrity, compassion, perseverance, and service. I believe that success is not measured solely by personal achievements but by the positive impact you have on others. Whether I am volunteering in my community, working with customers, or collaborating with classmates, I strive to treat every person with kindness, respect, and honesty. These values have shaped who I am and continue to guide both my academic journey and my future career goals. Growing up, I learned the importance of hard work from my family and carried that mindset into everything I do. Balancing college, work, leadership roles, and volunteer commitments has taught me perseverance and responsibility. I have also faced personal challenges, including having to give up the sport I loved because of my severe asthma. Although that experience was difficult, it taught me resilience and encouraged me to find new ways to pursue my passion for sports through media and business. Rather than allowing setbacks to define me, I have learned to adapt and continue moving forward. Compassion is another value that plays a significant role in my life. Through my volunteer work with Prevent Child Abuse America and the Girl Scouts, I have seen how small acts of kindness and encouragement can make a meaningful difference. These experiences reinforced my belief that leadership is about serving others, listening to their needs, and helping them reach their full potential. I want to be the type of leader who creates opportunities for others, builds supportive environments, and leads with empathy. As I pursue a career in business, my values will influence every decision I make. Integrity will remind me to act ethically, even when faced with difficult choices. Compassion will help me understand the needs of employees, customers, and the communities I serve. Perseverance will motivate me to overcome challenges and continue growing as a professional. Most importantly, I want to use business as a way to create positive change, whether that means supporting charitable organizations, fostering inclusive workplaces, or building a company that values people as much as profit. I believe that businesses have the power to strengthen communities when they are led by individuals with strong values. My goal is not only to be successful in my career but also to become a leader who inspires trust, gives back, and creates opportunities for others to succeed. By remaining committed to integrity, compassion, perseverance, and service, I know I can build a career that reflects the person I strive to be while making a lasting impact on the people and communities around me.

Leadership through service has taught me that making a difference does not always require grand gestures. Sometimes, it simply means showing up, educating others, and giving your time to causes that strengthen your community. Through my volunteer work with Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA) and the Girl Scouts, I have learned that service is one of the most meaningful ways to lead because it creates opportunities to help others while inspiring them to get involved as well. One of the volunteer initiatives I have been involved in is working with Prevent Child Abuse America (PCAA). Throughout the school year, I help organize and participate in tabling events on my college campus to raise money and awareness for child abuse prevention programs. During these events, I speak with students about PCAA's mission, encourage donations, and educate others about how their support helps provide resources for children and families across the country. These conversations have shown me that many people want to help but simply are not aware of the need. By taking the time to educate my peers and encourage them to support the cause, I have been able to help expand our impact beyond the fundraising itself. I have also volunteered with the Girl Scouts for many years, helping with cookie sales and community events. While selling cookies is an important fundraiser, I have found the greatest reward in helping younger girls develop confidence and independence. Whether I am encouraging a Girl Scout to introduce herself to a customer, helping her reach a personal goal, or assisting at local events, I enjoy watching the girls become more comfortable believing in their own abilities. These experiences reinforce the values of leadership, teamwork, and perseverance while helping them build skills they will carry with them throughout their lives. Both of these volunteer experiences have shown me that leadership is rooted in service. A leader is someone who recognizes a need and chooses to take action, even when no recognition is expected. Through PCAA, I have learned the importance of advocating for vulnerable children and supporting families before crises occur. Through the Girl Scouts, I have seen firsthand how encouragement and mentorship can shape a young person's confidence and future success. In both roles, I have learned that meaningful leadership is about empowering others and creating opportunities for positive change. As I continue my education and prepare for my future career, I plan to carry these lessons with me. No matter where my career takes me, I want to remain actively involved in my community and continue serving organizations that improve the lives of others. Volunteering has strengthened my communication, leadership, and teamwork skills, but more importantly, it has taught me that even small acts of service can have a lasting impact. By leading through service, I hope to inspire others to give back and create stronger, more supportive communities for generations to come.
    Working Student Scholarship
Working while pursuing a degree has taught me some of the most valuable lessons I have learned in college. It has taught me how to manage my time, stay organized, and continue pushing myself even when my schedule becomes overwhelming. I am currently pursuing two degrees in Business and Sports Media with a minor in Entrepreneurship at Susquehanna University. Along with my academics, I balance multiple jobs and responsibilities that have helped shape me into the person I am today. During the school year, I work two campus jobs while maintaining my course load. I am a media intern for the Dean of the Sigmund Weis School of Business, where I help create content, assist with marketing efforts, and showcase the accomplishments of students and faculty. I also work at the campus fitness center, which allows me to continue building connections across campus while gaining valuable work experience. Balancing these jobs with classes, projects, and involvement on campus requires a lot of planning and dedication, but I have learned how to prioritize my responsibilities and make the most of my time. During my summers and school breaks, I work at Oak Lodge, a bed and breakfast and wedding venue. My schedule at Oak Lodge is demanding, working 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, 1:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Saturdays, and 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sundays. My role includes helping manage weddings, assisting guests, giving tours, helping with bookings, and making sure events run smoothly. Working at Oak Lodge has taught me how to handle pressure, communicate with different types of people, and take responsibility for important tasks. One of the most challenging times balancing work and school was during my first year of college. I was learning how to adjust to college life while managing classes, campus involvement, and my responsibilities outside of the classroom. There were many times when I had assignments due, exams to prepare for, and commitments I needed to fulfill all at once. Instead of letting the stress overwhelm me, I learned to become more organized. I started planning my weeks ahead of time, breaking larger assignments into smaller tasks, and using every opportunity I had to stay productive. This experience taught me that success does not come from having an easy schedule. It comes from being willing to work hard, adapt, and keep moving forward when things become challenging. Working while pursuing my education has helped me develop discipline, confidence, and a strong work ethic. I know these skills will continue to benefit me as I work toward my future goals in business, sports media, and entrepreneurship. I am proud of everything I have been able to accomplish while balancing work and school, and I believe these experiences have prepared me for the challenges ahead.
    Neal Hartl Memorial Sales/Marketing Scholarship
Most business students dream of working in skyscrapers or Silicon Valley. Me personally, I dream of running an inn nestled in the mountains, where I can turn life's most special moments- weddings, reunions, celebrations- into unforgettable experiences. Coming from a family of eleven, Ive always been drawn to places that bring people together- where memories are made and experiences feel personal. That is why I have decided to pursue my dream of owning an inn/wedding venue, and I know that mastering sales and marketing is the path to get there. Being the youngest of nine siblings has made me truly value the time we spend together and realize the importance of those big moments in life- marriages, anniversaries, and birthdays. I went every guest at my inn to experience exceptional hospitality, love, and the opportunity to make unforgettable memories. To make my vision a reality, I know I need more than my creativity. I need the skills to market my brand, attract the right audience, and close sales. That is where sales and marketing come into play. I have always seen sales and marketing as the heartbeat of any successful business. For "Abrielle's Inn" to thrive, I will need to know how to tell its story, build trust with clients, and deliver the most unforgettable brand experience. Through marketing I will be able to craft a brand that captures the beauty and emotion of what my venue will offer. From visual storytelling on social media to building a compelling online presence, marketing will help me connect to couples who are searching for something meaningful and memorable. I believe that sales is more than pitching a product- it's about building trust. I need to learn how to listen to client needs, guide them through a big life decision, and most importantly, deliver an experience that feels tailored and personal to them. That ability to connect with my clients and offer high value is what will make my business thrive. What I find the most interesting about sales and marketing is how they aren't just based off of theories. Everything I learn can be tested, adjusted, and improved in real time, whether im promoting a local event or creating long term campaigns for "Abrielle's Inn". I’m someone who thrives on solving problems and creating memorable experiences. I’m not afraid of challenges—in fact, I welcome them, because I see every obstacle as a chance to grow and improve. Through varsity sports, involvement in greek life, clubs, and honor societies, I have developed a strong work ethic and notable leadership skills. During my last semester of high school I completed an internship at a local bed and breakfast/ wedding venue called Oak Lodge. At Oak Lodge I learned how to communicate with potential customers, appeal to the consumer market, and problem solve. I learned all of this through co- managing weddings, serving, working at the front desk, setting up wedding and lodging reservations, and talking to customers face to face. Now, I work at Oak Lodge and continue to build these strengths each and everyday. With a clear vision, a strong work ethic, and a deep passion for creating unforgettable experiences, I’m ready to step into this journey. Sales and marketing will help me turn my passion into purpose—and eventually, into a thriving business.
Morgan Levine Dolan Community Service Scholarship
There are many different ways this scholarship would help me, but the most important is to achieve my goals and continue following my dreams. One day I would like to open up my own Bed and Breakfast/ Inn in my hometown, Ligonier Pennsylvania. Ahead of this dream, ever since I was a little girl I have wanted to play college volleyball at the division one level. Up until this year I was pursuing that to my best ability. I was in contact with many different college coaches, attending different showcases and camps, and even participating in daily off season workout plans. During my senior season I was diagnosed with severe asthma and told that I cannot continue playing after college because it would put too much stress on my heart valves. I have never felt so helpless and heartbroken in my life. Not only would I be able to fulfill the goal I've been working so hard for, for many years, but I also wouldn't be able to receive an athletic scholarship to attend one of the schools I've applied to. Coming from a very large family (I am the youngest of 9), almost all of my siblings played sports in college, and most that did received an academic scholarship. My brother Aaron went on to play division one college football on a full ride. With the hope and plan to play in college and receive an athletic scholarship, I would've been able to fulfill both of my dreams. Now, I am not able to play volleyball in college but, I am still working so hard towards receiving scholarships so I can attend a great business school to help me someday achieve my other goal, opening my own bed and breakfast. Because I can't play volleyball in college, I am now hoping that one day I can coach high school volleyball and help aspiring females one day achieve their own goals. Receiving this scholarship would help me to attend one of the colleges that I have been recently admitted to. If I got to attend one of the colleges from my list I would major in business and minor in either hospitality or sports management. All of those curricular majors and minors would lead me to get the education necessary to open my own bed and breakfast, and one day coach. To conclude, I would be very grateful to receive this scholarship to help me achieve my once changed goals and dreams.

When you Google "Who are the most famous business people in the world?" you will come across a list of 24 business people. The first five were recognized as Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerberg, Warren Buffet, Larry Page, and Steve Jobs. All being respectable household names that the school system taught us about. Now if you Google " What makes you successful in business?" you will be given the terms "risk-taker" or "passion" and even "self-confidence", all attributes that many females persuing business possess. I like to think of myself as being a risk taker, very passionate, and even a female with a healthy amount of self-confidence. Being from a small rural town in Pennsylvania, I may not be able to change the world, but I can change the younger females around me's perceptions of themselves and of what they are capable of. In today's generation, females grow up around many male counterparts who are not only given more opportunities than them but they are given more recognition for the things they have accomplished. When an aspiring young female researches the most successful business people, she will be given the list I previously mentioned. She won't learn about Zhang Xin and how she founded a development firm that led to her being known in China as "The woman who built Beijing." She won't see articles published about Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw who started her biopharmaceutical company out of a shed in her backyard that ended up generating $1 billion on its first trading day. She won't even know that Oprah Winfrey grew up in poverty and as a rape survivor built her media empire and co-founded Oxygen Media. Oprah Winfrey will only be the lady on the "Talk" to her. My point is, that female business leaders aren't given the recognition that they deserve. Young impressionable females will only see these successful women as what the media perceives them to be, placeholders who can't think their thoughts and can't become successful on their own. Once I complete my business degree, the future is unknown and the possibilities are endless. Even if I pursue my profession of business in the small town of Ligonier, I will still be making a change in many young female lives. When they are in middle and elementary school, they will hear about me and my business profession that will accompany success. This will inspire them to pursue their goals that should no longer be seen as dreams. That is why I am pursuing business, and that is how I will make an impact. I may not pioneer multiple worldwide manufacturing processes like Carnegie Mellon or progress the computer technology world like Steve Jobs, but when one little girl in class hears my story on career day, she will have her revelation that will change her life and the lives of many others.

There are many different ways that I plan to make an impact on the world, but I would have to say the impact I would like to make most of all is through love. I know many people around me and my peers struggle with mental health. This upcoming school year I’m making it my own personal mission to watch for the signs of depression from those around me. If I notice any, I will talk to them myself or have a guidance counselor. That is now thought. There are so many other people around the world struggling with their mental health and losing the battle . Once I graduate college if I’m not loaded with student debt I would like to travel around the world and visit minority school districts to discuss mental health. I chose minority school districts because that is where suicide rates are the highest. And then, one day I would start a non profit to give these kids and districts better guidance and resources such as an in school therapy session. Or things just to make their lives a little easier such as new clothes, electronics, school supply’s, food, etc. That is how I will change the world. This mission of mine comes from a personal background. Last year I struggled with my own depression and was blessed enough to win the battle. I had people around me to help and therapists to talk to. My school district was very understanding and gave me time off allowing me to go remote while still doing my class work. Knowing that I had these resources helped me realize that I am not alone. People love me. People care about me. People want me to be around. People have a better day when they see me. People are happy I’m here. And that’s the message I want to spread to others. Sometimes it feels like you can’t live for yourself. So don’t. Live for those who would be sad to see you gone. And if it comes to that point, you will realize that you are loved for a reason. You have so much worth. Win this battle. Get through this. And once you do, help others who were once like you win their battle too. To conclude, I want to travel the world to create a non profit for depression in students. But for now, I’ll start with helping those around me.

Anthony Andrew Tutino, a full blooded and strong hearted Italian, is my father figure. My father (as we call him Tony) has many attributes that make him special. But there is one that stands out the most, and that has passed on to me and my 8 older siblings. His love for all things family. As clingy as it may sound, my father taught me that when you have lost all, you are never alone. There will always be family there for you. As a young girl going into her last year of high school, I have had my up and downs when it comes to friendships. My father has taught me to always keep those I love close to me. And when someone is rude, to always stay humble and kind, no matter what. Close friends are equal to family, because they will be there for you in a matter of need. It doesn’t matter the situation, they will be there for you. And throughout learning all of this, I have learned that my father has put this quality into my everyday life. I watch my father do many small acts of kindness in his everyday life, but when it comes to his family and friends, that is all that matters to him. Every holiday my house is packed with blood relatives and those close to my family and father. A gift for everyone around Christmas, and a cake for every birthday. All supplied by my father. And when someone fails or disappoints, it doesn’t take anytime for my father to embrace them and lead them into healing with the words “if you never bleed you are never going to grow”. All right before he lightens the mood with a “but don’t let it happen again” followed by a light smack on the back. Things like that have taught me to persevere through hard times, because I know my father will always be there for me, through the good and bad. He hold me accountable but always reminds me of my worth because as he says “I am family”. But as the years go on, I have come to realize that my father treats everyone as if they are family. With a gentle love and soft words of encouragement. Family, friends, strangers, I truly believe they all hold the same spot in my fathers wholesome heart. And the same for me. As my father once said, “family doesn’t end in blood, and it doesn’t start there either.”
