Bio

I am a nontraditional student, single mother, and advocate committed to dismantling the systemic barriers that prevent underserved communities from achieving stability and long term success. My path through higher education has been intentional. After earning my associate degree in theater, I discovered the power of storytelling, but I knew my purpose extended beyond telling stories. I am called to help change the systems that shape them. Through my experiences as a parent navigating education, employment, and access to resources, along with my work in nonprofit spaces, I have seen how easily families are overlooked by systems not designed with them in mind. These experiences gave me clarity, not discouragement. I am pursuing a path in operations, policy, and law to help design more equitable systems. Balancing parenthood, financial responsibility, and my education has required resilience and discipline. Interruptions caused by pregnancy, caregiving, and the COVID 19 pandemic strengthened my leadership and problem solving skills. My long term goal is to create initiatives that improve education, housing stability, and workforce access for underserved communities. I am committed to building pathways to generational stability and lasting opportunity. Receiving this scholarship will allow me to continue my education and expand my impact. I am not just pursuing a degree. I am building the foundation to create meaningful and lasting change.
