I plan to make a positive impact through my chosen career as a Licensed Optician by providing great service to my patients and take the time every day to listen and try to aid their concerns and troubles. As a non-licensed optician at Costco Optical in Durham, North Carolina it has been a privilege to see all the different needs walk through that door everyday. Children to elders, all in need of the most important sense in my opinion, sight! It has been super interesting to go to school while also getting the hands on experience of what I am pursuing to do. I not only enjoy being the helping hand in picking out the perfect pair of glasses for the patients that come through my doors everyday but I also love to problem solve and provide to each of their individual needs. Weather that be by providing best vision optically or helping them find their unique style through a pair of frames. The goal at the end of each interaction is that I made someone happy. For just once I allowed the patient to feel beautiful, powerful, or even sophisticated. That is truly my ultimate goal and impact I hope to make through my career. Allowing people to not only trust my judgment and professional opinion but also to trust me as a person too. I plan to make every effort I can to make each and every patient satisfied and comfortable. I want to be able to be trusted in the community to help make people feel confident and feel good about their health and selection in my office. As a person myself anywhere I go I hope to be treated with respect and kindness. Times are and have been hard, you never know what someone may be going through that day. So, my philosophy is to always treat someone as you would want to be treated. Weather that be by providing a service or receiving. You may never know what one interaction with someone could do to the next 10-15 that you may have an interaction with that might have mixed feelings about you. Be kind, be positive to not only others but yourself, and make everyday count. You never know what might be coming or ahead of you. Always strive to have the best foot forward and make the best efforts to impact those around you positively.
