I would make a great candidate because I am a hard, dedicated worker who uses everything to its fullest potential. I have faced many challenges in life - for example, mental health and learning disabilities are just a little bit that I have faced.
I love volunteering, serving behind the scenes, dog sitting, house sitting, and making arts and crafts.

Growing with Gabby Scholarship
helping with saleing, setup, and take down of art shows with jane
There are several ways I have grown over the past year, but the one that I have grown the most in is my business skills.
A little over a year ago, my mom and I discovered this lady that was hosting art classes at her house with a resin medium. This was something new I have never played with or even known of. I took my first class with Ms. Jane and fell in absolute love with the class, the medium, and the instructor. We started to take more and more classes of hers and we grew and connected over the art. She was talking about going to an art show not too far from where we lived and she was short someone to help her load up the artwork, transport, set up, sell, take down, and transport back and unload. I was raised to help in any way I can, and that is exactly what I did. My mom and I helped Ms. Jane with everything and she helped us by giving us an outlet to let me use my business skills, and step out of my comfort zone by talking and selling items. I am an introvert at heart, but I have my moments of being an extrovert and I use it in full effect at art shows. I get people in to look at the artwork, talk about anything and everything, and learn from others in the process. For example, in one of the art sales in Foley, I was able to learn ASL from 3 deaf friends that were passing through, and I learned to pronoun turtle in Hawaiian.
Ever since that class I took in November of last year, Ms. Jane has not been able to shake my mom or myself away, and I wouldn't want her to. We have become close family in the process and meet other people in the town who take her classes because we are helpers in everything. Every class. Every sale. Every party.
We have impacted so many lives of those who come to take her class because I am an old soul and can just connect with others in the smallest way and make them enjoy the art project/item they are making or buying/other people there. I come out of my shell to help others feel at home and ease with opening up.
Boyd J. Cameron Memorial Scholarship
I am pursuing a business degree for myself. Ever since I started playing golf at 11, I knew I wanted to start my own business with golf clothes made for not-so-skinny girls. I was that girl who was a little bit thicker, heavier, and taller than the others. Everywhere my parents and I went to look for golf clothes that fit, it was impossible. We had to go to the men's section. So even though the clothes were a little bit bigger, I was more comfortable because it wasn't tight on the chest or the stomach. I had room to move and did show every curve and roll.
My dream was to start my own business were girls who wanted to learn to play golf could come and find comfortable clothes. I don't want them to feel like they were too big in a certain area like I did. I want them to be proud and confident when they step foot on the course.
As I grew in the game, it was a little bit easier to find clothes that fit because there were woman-owned companies that were coming out with the clothes that I needed, and I found out I have a passion for teaching kids the game of golf. That was my purpose when I was older, was to show them the way of the game, the guidance of a FEMALE, that I didn't have. So I plan on using my business degree to open my own business one day where I can teach kids, moms, dads, and whoever wants to learn the game because they need an escape from life, just need alone time to themselves, or maybe want a family bonding experience. I love seeing the impact that I can have on people when helping with the smallest thing like correcting a grip, slice, or even hook.
Thomas Tatum Memorial Scholarship
Mental illness has affected me personally.
I have ADD, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and dyslexia, along with a few other things. It has affected my golf game, social life, my coaching life, school life, tests, exams, talking with people, and even my self-esteem. I have gotten a tattoo that says "I am enough" because while playing my sport there were multiple times when I was not enough for my coach, teammates, and my dad at times. I was pushed and pushed to a point where I could take no more, and I just quit. I was in a bad mood, angry, irritated, and just done with everything.
I told them, that I was done, and I was told I was wasting my talent, that I won't be able to go to a D1 school, but guess what, I am going to a D1 school for academics, not golf. Golf will teach you many things, and when playing with just the boys, will mess you up mentally, physically, and emotionally.
Ms. Susy’s Disney Character Scholarship
I was so excited when I saw this scholarship because I was like, "This is right up my alley. I love Disney!"
I have several favorite Disney characters, but my favorite that I go back to every single time is Belle. I have so much in common with her. She loooooooves reading books, as do I. I read probably 4/5 times a day. I am currently reading about 8 books as we speak. She reads books to have adventures, which is why I read books. I read because I love escaping into these fantasy and fiction worlds.
Belle is caring. She takes care of her father before he goes to the castle. She takes care of the beast when he was scratched by the wolves. She cares for everyone in the house who is trapped because of the curse and wants to help them. She takes care of herself even after her mother passed away when she was little.
Other things we have in common are that she is kind, independent, and accepting. I hope that I get chosen for this scholarship, but if not thank you for the opportunity.
Dog Owner Scholarship
I have owned a dog before, her name was Cheeta-girl like in the Disney movie the Cheeta-Girls. She was the first dog that I ever owned. She was my buddy when I was growing up. Cheeta was a schnauzer. They are very protective and loyal, compared to some other dogs. When she passed away, it was devasting. It was a day I will always remember.
My family and I knew that the next dog we were going to get was a schnauzer because we had such a great experience with one. 4th of July of 2015 came around and we saw 2 schnauzers left in Henager, Alabama. We went up there to meet the 2 and pick one out. Callie came to me first and she was the one. One year later, her sister, Taylor was born. They are 1 liter apart, same mom and dad, and opposite in every way. Callie-girl is the oldest, smallest, most shy, and quiet. Taylor-girl on the hand is the biggest, youngest, outgoing, talkative, and loud.
Having 2 dogs at the same time has allowed multiple opportunities for dog sitting at people's houses, taking care of their babies while they are gone a week at a time, or just letting them out while the owner is at work. Having my dogs has allowed me to see that I have a passion for dogs and I love every single dog that I meet.
