I have familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP), a rare genetic condition that causes several different types of cancers and is fatal without regular screenings. I have already found multiple precancerous areas of skin on my body, which I am l lucky to have found before they developed into melanoma. I have become extremely passionate about helping people feel comfortable in medical environments and stressful situations, so I have decided to major in radiology. I graduated at age 17 after only 2.5 years of high school and am currently working towards my degree. I also highly enjoy indulging in my creative side with music, baking, and art. Two careers I was interested in before deciding to go into radiologic technologies were psychology and medical laboratory. Both of these careers would be wonderful, but I decided to combine my favorite aspects of each one, and that‘s how I came up with radiology.
