As someone who had a loud and often painful childhood, something that became really important to me was being able to read, and to have my own solitude in books. As such, it became my dream to work in a library or a museum so that I could show the beauty of experiencing such art to others, and the way that it can quiet the inner turmoil one might feel. I grew up in and out of hospitals, changing schools, not feeling like a had a lot of stability. My father had issues with his emotions, and my mother was, and still is, very religious, and these things made me feel like I had to repress who I really was. But books and art were always there for me, helping me to calm down, to forget the pain, even for a moment, to find that stability that I so deeply longed for. My true dream is to be able to share this feeling with others, to be able to partake in something that was life-changing for me as a child and help others find the refuge I so desperately needed. I'm passionate about fulfilling my dreams because I know the challenges of thinking that there's no place you can be yourself, no place where you can calm down and rest, and I know the true bliss of finally finding it, and I want to be able to share that feeling with others. I want to help people who believe that there is no joy in the world, that there is no safe space for them, and show them that there is indeed a place where they can feel loved and accepted, the same way that I did. Art and the expression of the self has always been so important to me, and I want to be able to share it to everyone. I feel so passionately about the importance of art in our everyday lives, of being able to slow down and appreciate the beautiful things and take a breath. Art is somewhere that people can find themselves and not worry about what other people are doing or saying. Art, be it paintings or literature or anything else, are vital to humanity and need to be appreciated, preserved, and continued. They connect us with our pasts, but also with our inner selves, and evoke important thoughts and emotions that aren't found otherwise. We need art to remind us what it is to be human, and to remind us that we are not alone in this world, that other people have felt what we feel and will continue to in the future, as well. I want to be involved in this journey, introducing art to people and showing them how important it is to us as members of the human race to be able to connect through something beautiful and creative, and to be able to lose the chaos of everyday life within something magnificent.
