My life goal is to expand my knowledge and growth as a person. I want to succeed in life not only for myself but to my loved ones. Growing up has always been difficult because my mom has been sick my whole life. She tries her best but on her worst days is when I really have to step in and help her, even with the smallest things. Due to the situation of my mom, she was never given the opportunity and the strength to go to college. My biological Dad was never in my life and was in and out of prison. In that situation I knew I wanted to do something more in my life and take advantage of the opportunities in life even if I had to work super hard for it. I work hard and when I feel passionate about something I stick with my word. I chose welding because of my grandpa who I call, Apa. He had always been my inspiration and someone who I would look up to. From then on I had always felt so passionate about welding and knew what I wanted. My mom and my Apa are the reason why I keep going. Like my Apa has always told me, ¨women can do it too.¨ in an industry full of men.

I chose welding because of my grandpa who I call, Apa. Apa had always been my inspiration and someone who I would look up to. Growing up I would listen to the stories my mom would tell me about him which made me love him even more. He was such a hard working man and made sure he could provide for his family and especially his daughter who was diagnosed with lupus and scleroderma, who I call, mom.
Due to the fact that my mom is really sick, when she was pregnant with me, the doctor told her it came to the option of having to either choose me or herself but could not choose both with the high risk factor of surviving. She had to make the decision and yet even though it was risky, she was willing to sacrifice her life for me. Ever since I grew up I took care of my mom especially on her worst days. I made sure she ate, took her medicine, and I would brush her hair. My biological dad was never in my life and went in and out of prison. From there I knew I wanted to do something more in life and that's when I knew I wanted to pursue welding. My mom and my Apa are the reason why I keep going.
I worked super hard at school, I studied day and night, I always asked questions all the time, and even got tutoring before and after school in order to make sure I got the grades I needed, with a gpa of 3.8 overall. I then entered a course called auto and it sparked my interest even more. I learned about welding more in depth and in 2022 is when I began investing my time into doing my research about Universal Technical Institute (UTI). From then on I had always felt so passionate about welding and knew what I wanted. Like my Apa has always told me, ¨women can do it too.¨
My future plans after my trade education is to try and get into Space-X, its my biggest dream to get in there, especially since my aunty and uncle used to work there. My plan B is to get into Eastwood and or Miller Electric. I will pursue and continue my education and plan on continuing to expand my knowledge and growth. I want to provide for my family and especially my mom, help my brother pursue his dream of getting into the University of Brown and helping, my step dad for being such a hard working man. I want to encourage and be a role model to other women that we can do it too in an industry full of men.

My future plans after my trade education is to try and get into Space-X, it’s my biggest dream to get in there, especially since my aunty and uncle used to work there.
