I am interested in pursuing a career in sports because athletics has shaped nearly every part of who I am. Sport has been my teacher, my outlet, and my constant—instilling discipline, resilience, and self-belief, while also teaching me how to navigate failure, pressure, and uncertainty. Long before I understood careers or titles, sport showed me how to persist. My journey began with basketball, where I had a highly decorated high school career that led to collegiate competition and eventually professional basketball. Those experiences taught me what it truly means to commit to something larger than yourself. I learned how to lead under pressure, how to trust teammates, and how to show up prepared even on difficult days. Competing at higher levels also exposed me to the realities athletes face behind the scenes—injuries, mental fatigue, and the constant demand for performance—experiences that deeply influenced how I now view athlete support and development. Alongside basketball, I competed in collegiate track, which offered a completely different lens on performance. Track demanded patience and precision, pushing me to focus on biomechanics, speed development, and efficiency of movement. It was during this time that I began to appreciate sport as both an art and a science, and to understand the importance of training with intention rather than simply training harder. Today, I compete as a Category 3/4 cyclist and am actively training for skeleton, a sport that requires exceptional power, technical precision, and mental toughness. Transitioning into cycling and skeleton has been humbling and motivating, reinforcing the value of adaptability and long-term development. These non-traditional pathways have also highlighted gaps in the sports system, particularly for athletes who cross disciplines or enter new sports later in life. In response to these gaps, I founded Opulence Groupe, a nonprofit organization rooted in the belief that a path forward always exists. Through Opulence Groupe, we provide mentorship, resources, and development opportunities for athletes and underserved individuals navigating barriers to education, sport, and personal growth. Our work focuses on exposure, guidance, and empowerment—helping individuals see possibility where limitations once existed. Sport serves as both a tool and a platform in this mission, teaching confidence, accountability, and perseverance while opening doors that extend far beyond competition. My non-profit has also had the unique opportunity of coordinating all of Athletes Unlimited community activation events and Divine 9 Night for 2 years in a row. I hope to impact the sports industry by helping create more holistic and inclusive systems for athlete development—systems that prioritize health, mental resilience, access to resources, and long-term sustainability. My goal is to help build environments where athletes are seen as whole people, supported through both traditional and non-traditional pathways, and equipped not only to succeed in sport, but to thrive in life beyond it.
