Dema Dimbaya Humanitarianism and Disaster Relief Scholarship
Serving the community has always been a priority of mine for as long as I remember. I
always love helping and assisting people, whether it was distributing lunches throughout the
community or volunteering to help walk kids to school. I’ve gradually watched as my character
has grown throughout the years with one of the reasons being that I serve the community. Disaster relief is something that should occur more when disasters happen but unfortunately not as much. It is a very natural and pleasant thing to help others, especially in need of assistance and it generally
makes you feel good about yourself. Overall, it's always great to lend someone a hand especially
since everyone goes through things and you might not know how much your service means to
them or how much your service might affect them.
One thing that I feel as if everyone can agree on is that we all want to make the community and even the world a better and finer place to live in. In addition, there are so many other benefits to serving the community such as connections with others within the community, improved career skills, and better occupations. Showing people how much improvement can be done to their community gets them involved and brings them into doing community service and even disaster relief. My service, alongside everyone else's service, is just another footstep toward the community and world that we all want to shape profoundly. Community service should overall be a precedent amongst people and nothing but great and beneficial things will happen for not only you but the world as long as you keep serving a priority.
Having many great and supportive people involved in your life who will guide you shows me how important and selfless community service and disaster relief are. Knowing how much the world could have been if there wasn't for community service and disaster relief also magnifies my desire for it. I foreshadow myself hosting many community service and disaster relief events that will very much help. Since I have always been doing community service and disaster relief, I could only hope that I continue to do so and that I keep up the same mentality. Helping others in the slightest is considered community service so help others whether it is just picking up their items off the floor or distributing food and water throughout the entire community.

Patience would have to be an attribute that I would say makes me unique. It's an attribute and characteristic that many people not only do not have but do not value. I feel as if patience is a quality that should be more cherished upon yourself in general. I believe that this is one of those qualities that you gradually start to value as you get older and mature. Another reason why I value my patience the most is that it has pulled me through many situations and circumstances. In general, patience helps me make better decisions which are very beneficial for my life journey. Possessing this trait helps you know how to confidentially deal with people in the simplest matter.
Patience has helped me see the bigger picture of many situations before responding to them. Opportunities have presented themselves due to patience which is something I have learned as I began to merit patience. Morally, it's something my parents have always taught me to be. This attribute has and will help me also think through every situation and circumstance I get involved in. I very much value my patience toward others whether it's keeping my composure from annoying and ignorant people or keeping my calm when people try to instigate or start a conflict with me or even others.
Serving the community has always been a priority of mine for as long as I remember. I
always love helping and assisting people, whether it was distributing lunches throughout the
community or volunteering to help walk kids to school. I’ve gradually watched as my character
has grown throughout the years with one of the reasons being that I serve and give back to my community. I foreshadow myself hosting numerous volunteer and community events to help everyone and the community through multiple ways of assistance. I believe that this will be very beneficial since I feel as if lots, if not everyone, can agree that we all want to make the community and even the world a better and finer place to live in.
In addition, there are so many other benefits to serving the community such as connections with others within the community, improved career skills, and better occupations. @normandiealise #GenWealth Scholarship
First off, generational wealth is something everyone wants to ultimately achieve sometime in the future before they pass on. It is a common goal that most, if not everyone, want to accomplish but it is also a goal many just do not achieve. Even the richest or most successful do not even have generational wealth. It is truly an achievement that will not only put you at peace for the rest of your life, but for the upcoming generations of your family. Giving your future generation a head start on building their wealth helps and increases their chances of being wealthy and financially stable. It also gives your future generation a head start on building their wealth so they would be able to do the same and pass on their assets to the next generation.
Personally, having generational wealth means a lot to me especially since that isn't something I would say my generation or descendant of my family contain. I want to have some assets of some sort ready to be able to pass on to my children and my future generation before I pass on. Reaching this kind of status in any part of your life is an accomplishment that can only be achieved with hard work and persistence. I believe that as long as you are dedicated and consistent toward fulfilling this, then you could achieve generational wealth. Another trait that I believe that you should possess if you are trying to get generational wealth is patience. I say this because you are going to go through ups and downs throughout your life and you need to know when to pick yourself back up and keep going.
My plan to achieve generational wealth is to first graduate high school and achieve my undergraduate degree in business. Once I have my undergraduate degree in business, I honestly want to see where that takes me but I ultimately want to have my own business in the long term whether it's my full-time or part-time occupation. There are some other goals I have that I would like to do such as receiving my barber license. No matter what occupations I end up having throughout my life, I will keep working hard and staying persistent. Overall, I believe that with optimism and patience, my plan toward generational wealth is very bright and that as long as I keep doing my best in anything that I do, I will be able to achieve this status.

Patience would have to be the quality I value most in myself. There are numerous reasons why I value patience the most in myself. One reason why I value my patience so much is that patience is a quality and characteristic that many people not only do not have but do not value. I very much value my patience toward others whether it's keeping my composure from annoying and ignorant people or keeping my calm when people try to instigate or start a conflict with me or even others.
I am very glad that this is at least one of the characteristics that I have even if it wasn't the most valued quality. Without patience, I would most definitely not be the person I am now and I wouldn't be where I am now for sure. In general, patience helps me make better decisions which are very beneficial for my life journey. Possessing this trait helps you know how to confidentially deal with people in the simplest matter. This quality is one of the main qualities I'd say will help and stay with me in my life journey simply because of how much it's a part of who I am as a person.
Patience is a key thing when it comes to planning things out, waiting or saving for something whether it is planning to save up for a house or even waiting for someone to fully recover from the hospital. I honestly feel as if patience is a quality most, if not all, people possess but yet do not value whatsoever. Overall, my patience will help me keep striving as I continue to use and value it in my life journey.
Cazares Family Trade Scholarship
On September 13, 2021, I finally started my side business. My side business consists of reselling different items like shoes, clothes, fragrances, toys, and technology. This also gave me the realization that I can carry out a future I am very affectionate for. Starting my side business was something I've always been trying to accomplish for almost two years. Of course, it wasn't easy being able to carry through with the business especially since I was fairly new to it. Still being in school was the main difficulty I had. Other difficulties were setting the business up and shipping the items. I received lots of criticism for how I packaged the items which was an eye-opener when I started the business. It has now been a little over a year since I started it and I can say that it most definitely increased my desire for business. Thankfully, I was able to overcome these challenges thanks to my parents mainly.
Overall, I am glad that I have found something that I love and look forward to doing in the future as a career choice. This obstacle that I have overcome has grown my passion for business and determination toward the career I would like which is being an entrepreneur/businessman with my own business. I feel as if this obstacle that I have overcome has helped me certify and solidify my thoughts and desires on what I want to do and be in the long term. I also feel as if this difficulty in my life needed to happen for me to reach my desired destination in terms of my career. I am glad that this obstacle appeared in my life because it showed me how lots of businesses operate and process.
Lots of general insight was shown during the difficulties that I went through during the obstacle specifically. Since it was fairly simple to operate a business like this later on, it gave me experience and knowledge through the difficulty especially before it became simple. It showed me how to make make and operate a business in the future from the experience, knowledge, and even mistakes that I went through. This was for sure another step that I had to take to reach the desired career path especially since it will now be a lot simpler to have my own business. I believe that everything happens for a reason and this obstacle needed to be overcome to get to where I want to be in my career in the long run.

First off, I am involved in a Spanish and yearbook extracurricular. I am also a part of a chess club and a nonprofit organization called Top Teens of America. I am passionate about the yearbook class because it has made me grow to like and be interested in photography. Being in yearbook class has also shown me the perspective of a photographer and the proponents that come along with that career. Being in a Spanish extracurricular has improved my worldview on different languages throughout the world. It also gives a feel for communities that use Spanish.
Being in a chess club has taught me very valuable lessons about the game of chess. I love being in a chess club because it helps accelerate and function my brain in numerous ways. Learning to play chess, especially at a young age, will help you figure out how to solve and get out of many situations using your mind and strategic skills. Being in Top Teens of America gives you different insights based on the activities and things this organization presents. Top Teens of America is an organization in which you can give back to the community through community service and different activities amongst other teens. This nonprofit organization also is great for socializing and connecting with others, especially your age and can provide financial aid like scholarships that can be earned. Top Teens of America also can host some very fun and engaging events on the side just to help everyone catch up with each other and keep everyone connected. I am very passionate about Top Teens of America because I love the different kinds of community service activities and opportunities they offer.
These activities benefit my community in many different and diverse ways. Top Teens of America always excels because doing service for the community will always benefit the community. Helping and assisting others when needed and in need benefits my community as well. Chess has many benefits for the community like lack of memory loss, strategic decisional skills, and problem-solving which can all help prevent mental diseases like dementia and even Alzheimer's disease. Spanish benefits my community because it gives you another perspective on others which improves your overall perspective on people. Yearbook extracurricular can also prevent mental and memory diseases due to the main premise of making memories and improving your memory which benefits my community in lots of ways.

My name is Aamaury Elijah Wood and I was born on December 26, 2005, in PG County, Maryland. I currently live in Bryans Road, Maryland with my father, mother, and little sister. I am currently seventeen years old with an immense passion for business. I am a full-time senior in high school and a part-time cashier who goes to Lanham Christian School in Lanham, Maryland. Some hobbies and things I like to do: are a business, community service, and even playing chess. My father does blind installation with hustles on the side and my mother is a budget analyst while owning her bakery. My sister is currently a sophomore in high school so we are pretty close in age.
Some characteristics and human qualities I would say I possess are patience, intelligence, persistence, and determination. I have played multiple sports throughout my life such as football, basketball and soccer. I am also currently in a nonprofit organization called Top Teens of America which is an organization in which you can participate in community service and give back to the people while with other teens. I have a side business as well that consists of reselling things like shoes and technology which has been going well. I have grown to love chess over the years, being involved in chess clubs and winning multiple trophies from tournaments.
After high school, I plan on attending undergraduate school to achieve a bachelor's degree in business finance with a minor in business marketing. My long-term plan is that I plan on owning or managing a business and pursue a career in business. I am very passionate about business, in general, and I believe that a good reason why I want to be an entrepreneur is the simple fact that I do not want to have to work for anyone. I have also thought about becoming a lawyer but only time will tell with that thought.
I would like to be remembered for the brightness, optimism and knowledge I have always bought where ever I am. When people hear and speak of my name, I would like them to reminisce about how much self-awareness and integrity I had. Most importantly, I hope people remember me for the wisdom and knowledge I passed on to them in some shape, fashion or form. I would like to be remembered for this because it was simply who I was as a person so when they speak of my name, they remember who I was especially to them.
