As a child, I have always found excitement in helping others. I knew I wanted to find a career in which I can help others, even if it was as simple as hugging someone to make them feel loved. Soon, I began watching shows about being in the medical field. I fell in love with the medical field, they help people all the time. I just knew I was meant for the medical field.
I joined every medical class my high school had to offer. I aced all of the classes with high A's, there was never a time I had below an A. Senior year they offered a Phlebotomy/EKG class, I signed up, there was no harm in trying to find a career I would soon love. Months pass by, I am now a Certified EKG and Phlebotomy Technician. I love being a Phlebotomist and I know I can help so many people being a Phlebotomy Technician.
As a phlebotomist, there are several ways you can make a positive impact on the lives of your patients. A Phlebotomy Technician can make the experience of getting blood drawn as comfortable and stress-free as possible for the patients. This can involve communicating clearly with them about the procedure, being gentle with the equipment, and making sure they feel at ease throughout the process.
Phlebotomists also play a key role in helping to diagnose and treat a wide range of medical conditions. By collecting and processing blood samples, you can help doctors and other healthcare professionals to identify potential health issues, monitor the progress of treatment, and make informed decisions about patient care. They can also help diagnose and monitor medical conditions, including infections, cancers, and other diseases. They help ensure that blood donations are collected safely and efficiently, which can help save lives.
A phlebotomist can provide emotional support to patients who may be going through a difficult time. By being compassionate, empathetic, and understanding, you can help patients to feel more comfortable and confident during the blood collection process and can help to ease their fears and anxieties.
In general, as a Phlebotomy Technician, you have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of your patients. By providing high-quality care, being compassionate and supportive, and working closely with other healthcare professionals, you can help to improve patient outcomes and contribute to the overall health and well-being of your community.
