Hello! Thank you for visiting my profile.
I'm currently pursuing my dream career, becoming a nurse.
Ever since I was young I had a passion for caring for others. My friends even called me the 'Mom' of the friend group. This nurturing nature comes from caring for my two younger siblings which I have since been able to use to comfort vulnerable patients.
After starting my undergraduate degree at the University of Washington, I decided to gain more real world experience. I immersed myself into the health care field after finishing two years of full time school. I focused more towards my job as a nursing assistant and took a lighter class load in order to assure that nursing was the right career path for me. Working through the pandemic at a level one trauma center in Washington has allowed me to see just how critical nurses are to the health care community. There are many life changing experiences that I have gained over the past two years and it has confirm my passion for patient care and solidified my choice in choosing nursing as my career goal.
Once I become a nurse, I would like to lead and help provide accessible health care to those in underrepresented communities. I would also like to become a mentor and teach the next generation of new nurses because based on my own experiences, I know just how important a good mentor can be in influencing the lives of others.
I have decided to switch back to full time education in order to pursue my Bachelors of Science in Nursing while working part time as a CNA. I plan on graduating in 2024.
