Wilda J. Bowers was a lifelong educator and a cherished member of the Greene County community who dedicated her life to helping others and creating a brighter future for the children she served.
Wilda taught with love, compassion, and an unwavering commitment to her students. For forty-three years, she poured her heart into educating and nurturing children at West Pines Elementary School and throughout the Greene County School System. Her dedication to caring for others began long before her teaching career. As one of the older siblings in her family, Wilda was a source of guidance, support, and love to her younger siblings. Caring for others was simply who she was.
Throughout her life, Wilda believed in the importance of encouraging children, helping others, and investing in the future. Her influence reached far beyond the classroom, leaving a lasting impression on the countless students, families, and individuals whose lives she touched.
This scholarship was established to honor the memory and legacy of Wilda J. Bowers by supporting a local student who shares her passion for education and her commitment to making a difference in the lives of others.
