Wendell and Gwendolyn Clement Scholarship
Wendell and Gwendolyn Clement, who were both educators themselves, were strong believers that education helps students become better citizens, get better paying jobs and that education demonstrates the importance of hard work.
Education helps people grow, gives students a chance to develop and shape a better society to live in. The Clements viewed a college education as extremely important for reducing poverty and closing the achievement and wealth gaps, especially for African-American students. The achievement gap is not only a problem for the Black community, but also affects the well-being of the entire country.
To promote the education of Black students, the Wendell and Gwendolyn Clement Scholarship will support an undergraduate student at Ohio State University who has a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
To apply, write about how you plan to use your college education to make an impact on the world.
