The Wade Empire Future Creators Scholarship supports Michigan high school seniors who plan to pursue higher education and are committed to building a meaningful future by creating opportunities rather than simply waiting for them.
I still remember receiving one of my first major scholarships as a student and how meaningful that support felt during my educational journey. That experience stayed with me and inspired me to create this scholarship to help students who are ready to work hard and build something meaningful for their future.
While students interested in media, communications, digital content, or entrepreneurship are especially encouraged to apply, students pursuing any field of study are welcome. Strong candidates will demonstrate creativity, initiative, leadership, and a genuine desire to grow and make the most of the opportunities ahead of them.
Any high school senior who is a Michigan resident may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they’re pursuing media, communications, content creation, or social media.
To apply, submit an essay in response to the prompt below.
Additionally, submit images showing examples of your social content, media, and digital and creative work.
Applicants should respond to ONE of the following prompts in 400–600 words:
Prompt Option 1
Describe an experience, moment, or realization that helped you discover what you want to pursue in life. How do you hope your education will help you continue exploring that interest?
Prompt Option 2
Describe something you hope to build, create, or contribute to in your future career. What inspired this idea, and why does it matter to you?
Note:
There are no right or wrong answers, this is simply an opportunity to share your story, ideas, and aspirations.
The application deadline is Jun 23, 2026. Winners will be announced on Jul 24, 2026.

The winner will be publicly announced on Jul 24, 2026. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
