Velarde-Brandt Northern New Mexico Cultural Preservation Scholarship in Memory of Jennifer Kristen Brandt
One of the best ways of staying in touch with one’s roots and cultures is by talking with older family members, neighbors, and other people in the community who have wisdom and stories to share.
In addition to being amusing, these anecdotes and lessons can be valuable in the years to come as young people grow up, encounter challenges, and chart their own paths through higher education, the workforce, and beyond.
This scholarship seeks to support students who are connected to the culture of their families and communities.
