Lasya Voonna, a 10th grader at Thomas Edison Energysmart Charter School in Somerset, NJ, and her brother, Gagan Voonna, an 11th grader, are dedicated volunteers in their community. They share a belief in the transformative power of education and are committed to breaking down financial barriers that hinder deserving students from attending college.

Within their neighborhood, they've successfully raised funds to support academically deserving and financially needy students pursuing higher education. Their efforts received a generous $500 donation from a family friend in memory of her departed Father-in-Law, Veerappan.

The Voonna siblings aspire to provide students from diverse economic backgrounds with access to quality education and the opportunity to pursue their dreams.

Any low-income undergraduate student who has at least a 3.0 GPA and extracurricular or volunteering experience may apply for this scholarship.

To apply, tell us how your financial background has affected you, how a scholarship would help you realize your dreams, and how your dream would make a difference in the world.
