The F.O.O. Scholarship
The F.O.O. Project Scholarship Fund, (standing for First, Only, Other) empowers undergraduate students facing financial hardships to achieve their educational aspirations.
The fund focuses on low-income students who identify as BIPOC, first-generation college students, Pell Grant recipients, international visa holders, and individuals who have experienced homelessness within the past year.
By addressing systemic barriers to education, this scholarship aims to foster equity and opportunity, transforming lives and communities to create a brighter, more inclusive future for generations to come.
Any low-income undergraduate student who is BIPOC, a first-generation college student, a Pell Grant recipient, and/or an international visa holder may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
To apply, submit an essay or video telling us about your goals, the challenges you’ve faced, and how this scholarship will help you. Additionally, upload a photo of yourself.
Write a 300-word-limit essay about your dreams, aspirations, current ventures, community involvement, and how you have overcome challenges despite originating from a disadvantaged background. If you have experienced homelessness, please describe your experience.
Explain creatively how this scholarship will help you accomplish your dreams, both personally and professionally. Be personable, but remember, this is not a college essay. We want to know the real you!
You can also submit a two-minute or less video instead of an essay. Please ensure the link is accessible. If we cannot access the link, you will not be considered for this award.

The winner will be publicly announced on Aug 9, 2025. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
