The owner of Ryder Collections, Karahn Green, is an African American business owner and an HBCU alumnus who is passionate about black excellence and supporting students attending historically black colleges.
Historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) give students the opportunity to delve deeper into their cultural history, while being surrounded by students who are similar to them and striving for the same goals. The Ryder Collections clothing line was created to shed light on "high class" streetwear. They plan to give back to their community and support youth pursuing higher education. The Ryder Collections Scholarship will encourage BIPOC students to follow their dreams at HBCUs.
High school seniors and undergraduate students are eligible to apply if they are first generation college students. This scholarship is specifically for BIPOC students attending HBCUs. To apply, answer questions that help show how your experiences have shaped you as a person.
Who you are is closely tied to where you’ve been and who you’ve known. Please answer the following questions: How has your family background affected the way you see the world? How has your education contributed to who you are today? Pick an experience from your own life and explain how it has influenced your development.
The application deadline is Dec 1, 2022. Winners will be announced on Dec 29, 2022.

The winner will be publicly announced on Dec 29, 2022. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
