Robert N. Highfield dedicated twenty years of service to the Washington Court House City Schools Board of Education and many years on the Great Oaks vocational school board.
A passionate advocate for education, Mr. Highfield was committed to creating opportunities for all students, especially those from underprivileged backgrounds. Recognizing the importance of preparing students for the future, he championed the integration of computer courses into the curriculum to address the growing impact of technology. At the same time, Mr. Highfield understood the enduring need for vocational careers and worked to support programs that benefited the local farming communities.
During his tenure, Mr. Highfield saw five of his own children graduate from Washington Court House schools and cherished the chance to collaborate with dedicated administrators and teachers. He has many grandchildren who are attending or have attended Miami Trace Schools in Fayette County, Ohio.
This scholarship seeks to honor the legacy of Robert N. Highfield by providing financial support to deserving students pursuing post-secondary education, whether their goals lead them to a university degree or vocational training.
