Resiliency Award
With the rising costs of college education, many young students find themselves reliant on financial assistance.
Unfortunately, the financial aid system has many gaps. From often providing insufficient aid to recipients to leaving some students ineligible for aid altogether, FAFSA and other government assistance don’t go far enough and leave many students without the help they need to afford college and achieve their goals.
This scholarship aims to encourage students to further their studies by providing the financial support they need to do so.
Any high school senior who is a California resident with at least a 3.5 GPA may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they will attend college, university, or technical school and if they are involved in an extracurricular activity (sports, clubs, work, etc.). However, applicants who have a completed Financial Snapshot as part of their profile are preferred.
To apply, tell us about the circumstances that have led you to pursue education without financial assistance and how this experience has impacted your sense of responsibility, independence, and future goals.
Pursuing higher education without family or federal financial support requires determination and planning. Describe the circumstances that have led you to pursue your education without financial assistance from your family or FAFSA. How has this background shaped your sense of responsibility, independence, and future goals?

Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
