Playmakers Nashville and the Nashville Predators believe in investing in the futures of women who are passionate about sports. Whether interested in calling the shots on the field, behind the scenes, or at the head of the table, we believe it all begins with education.
Regardless of whether your passion lies on the field or off, in business, marketing, media, medicine, analytics, leadership, or beyond, this scholarship aims to empower young women who are passionate about pursuing careers in the sports industry to follow that interest without hesitation.
Any female high school or undergraduate student in Middle Tennessee who is interested in or actively pursuing a sports-related field may apply for this scholarship opportunity. The Nashville Predators are in their 27th season as a National Hockey League (NHL) franchise. The team has recorded many successes over the years, including reaching the 2017 Stanley Cup Final, 2018 President's Trophy (most points in the regular season) and 2018 and 2019 division titles. Since their inception in 1998, the Nashville Predators have remained a strong pillar of support for the Nashville and Middle TN community. The Nashville Predators Foundation supports local nonprofits through Helper Grants that include annual giving of over $3 million dollars. Additionally, the Predators launched their GUIDER platform in 2020 to serve and empower Nashville's diverse communities. The winner will be publicly announced on May 15, 2026. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
