Strong school communities are shaped by students who step forward, listen to others, and help make their schools better places to learn and grow.
The Leadership in the School Community Award supports a graduating senior at Randolph High School who has contributed to the school community through a student activity. Leadership can take many forms, including organizing, mentoring, advocating, creating opportunities for others, or helping a group work toward a shared goal.
All current Randolph High School seniors are encouraged to apply, including students whose leadership has taken many different forms. Applicants should reflect on an extracurricular leadership experience, the perspectives they encountered, and what the experience taught them about contributing to their school community.
To apply, write 400–600 words about your school-based extracurricular leadership experience and how it has shaped your understanding of leadership. Applications will be evaluated based on ambition, drive, and the impact students have made or hope to make in their communities.
Describe a school-based extracurricular experience in which you took a leadership role. What did you hope to accomplish? Whose perspectives did you hear, and how did they affect your actions? Explain what you contributed, what you learned, and how the experience will shape the way you lead in the future. Applications will be reviewed for the thoughtfulness of the student’s reflection, their initiative, their attention to others’ perspectives, and the contribution they made or worked to make to their school community.

The winner will be publicly announced on May 12, 2027. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
