Cosmetology

The beauty and cosmetology industries offer many career opportunities that allow workers to build robust professional lives.

Cosmetologists get to use their talent and creativity when working with clients, helping others find confidence in their appearances and their health. While the industry is a great choice for interested professionals, young people often aren’t encouraged to consider cosmetology.

This scholarship aims to support students who are pursuing careers in cosmetology so they can enroll in the programs of their dreams.

Any high school graduate who will be starting or returning to cosmetology school in Arizona or Washington may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they have a picture on their profile.

To apply, tell us why you are pursuing cosmetology.

Since I was young, I have always loved helping people. One way to do that is by pampering people and making them feel gorgeous. While I was in high school, all my family members would gather together for a family picture. Before the event, my step mom would ask for me to help her get ready. I would begin the process by doing her makeup. I often tested many shades of eyeshadow before finding the perfect color to use. Next, I did her hair. Sometimes I curled her hair and put it up. Other times she wore it down straight but with a chic barrette. I loved creating a masterpiece. The difference of what she looked like from before and afterwards was stunning. She knew she looked fantastic. I felt so fulfilled. Recently, I decided to go to college. At first, I was thinking of going into the medical field and to become a registered nurse. Then, I thought to myself “What do I love to do more than anything? Why not do this for the rest of my life and get paid to do it? That’s it, I’m going to Beauty School!”
