Knuckleheads FSU Flying High Circus Alumni Scholarship
The Knuckleheads Alumni Scholarship is established by a proud group of Flying High Circus alumni affectionately known as The Knuckleheads to recognize and support current student performers who exemplify the spirit, dedication, and camaraderie that have long defined the Florida State University Flying High Circus. This scholarship honors those who continue the tradition of excellence, teamwork, and showmanship that make the Circus family so special.
Selection Process: The Knuckleheads Alumni Committee will review applications. Selection will be based on merit, character, contribution to the Circus community, and alignment with the spirit of the Knuckleheads.
Active Participation: Applicants must be current, active members of the FSU Flying High Circus in good standing.
Academic Standing: Applicants must be enrolled as full-time undergraduate or graduate students at Florida State University.
Circus Commitment: Applicants must demonstrate consistent dedication including teamwork, leadership, and positive representation of the Flying High Circus.
Embodiment of the Knucklehead Spirit: Preference will be given to students who display humor, humility, and heart. Some of the qualities that reflect the Knucklehead legacy of fellowship.
Financial Need (Optional Consideration): Financial need may be considered, but is not required. Applicants are encouraged to share any personal circumstances or goals that this scholarship would help support.
Tenure: Applicants must have completed at least one full semester of active participation in the FSU Flying High Circus and have performed at least one time, prior to applying.
To apply:
(1) Submit a short/creative (and preferably humorous) video describing how the joy of "Circus Fellowship" has impacted your personal and academic journey. Make sure the spirit of your narrative reflects the values of maintaining a sense of humor, displaying humility, and showing heart.
(2) Upload a letter of recommendation from a current (or former) Circus performer.

The winner will be publicly announced on May 6, 2026. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
