Jonas Griffith, #50 for the Denver Broncos, grew up in a large family and may not have been able to pursue football if not for scholarships.

Scholarship opportunities helped Jonas play at the collegiate level, ultimately leading him to his National Football League career. Having a platform and the capability to give back to others, Jonas is focused on cementing his legacy on and off the field and offering youth the head start he was fortunate enough to have himself.

This scholarship aims to support deserving youth so they can pursue higher education and achieve all of their dreams.

Any high school junior or senior who participates in extracurricular activities and exhibits good attendance and no truancy concerns may apply for this scholarship opportunity.

My education goals are majoring in IT, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science. CE and AP Classes that have made me a step closer to my goal are AP Computer Science Principles, CE Trig/Algebra, Pre-Calc, Calc I, and Intro to Programming. Math and Computers have always been subjects I was really, and still am fond of because learning about these subjects brought me joy. AP Computer Science in 10th grade was important to me because it introduced me to a different world, I knew then that this was the career field I wanted to pursue. CS interests me because computing can be applied to anything. We live in a society that involves technology daily. For example, phones, computers, refrigerators, etc. These are important items we use in our everyday life. Doing so would allow me to better prepare myself for my future career goal and in the long-term will help me achieve my goal of having a high-end paying job at big companies like Google, Apple, or Microsoft, or developing IT Companies. I’ve been admitted into the Colorado School of Mines Fall of 2024. After I become the first in my family to receive a college degree I want to make my parent's dreams come true. I want to impact my family with the financial and social benefits of having an education. My parents had to work difficult jobs that were destroying their bodies and still are. I don’t want my parents to work until they are bedridden. I want to give my parents a comfortable life where they do not have a single worry about money or the bills they have to pay. I want to take my parents places they have never been to and travel. I plan to achieve this goal by pursuing my computer science career and attending a prestigious college, to which I have already been accepted, the Colorado School of Mines. I plan to achieve this goal by getting a job where I can help my parents and give them not worry in their mind. I plan to achieve this goal by pursuing my computer science career and attending a prestigious college, to which I have already been accepted, the Colorado School of Mines. I plan to achieve this goal by getting a job where I can help my parents and give them not worry in their mind. I believe after I graduate from the Colorado School of Mines in 2028, I will make my parents proud because I will be able to find a career that values my knowledge doesn't damage my body, and supports me. I hope through hard work in high school, dedication to college, and focus on my future I will impact and inspire my family. I want to be remembered as someone who followed their dreams, even when it wasn't easy. I want to motivate my family to follow their dreams. I will accomplish my goals through the support of my community in college. In my pursuit of college, I was supported by many teachers and my family who made a huge difference. I know as a Freshman at the Colorado School of Mines I will face some challenges simply because I am Latino. This scholarship would allow me to better prepare myself for my future career goal and in the long-term will help me achieve my goal of having a high-end paying job at big companies like Google, Apple, or IT Companies. I’ve been admitted into the Colorado School of Mines Fall of 2024. This scholarship will make a difference in my life because currently, I am in a financial dilemma where I am unable to afford the tuition and/or the room and board. This scholarship will benefit me in my career plans because it will allow me to attend my classes without having to stress and worry about my financial situation. I am passionate about a career in information technology. I want to pursue a job where I can shape my future. I am tenacious with my academic and personal goals. There is no obstacle that will deter my dedication to understanding and growing. I want to work hard and accomplish my goals.
