Jesus Perez, was a beloved father and a true unsung hero whose sacrifices and unwavering support paved the way for his daughter’s journey into the legal profession.

Like many Puerto Rican parents, Jesus migrated to the United States with dreams of providing a better future for his children. Despite the challenges he faced as a single parent, he was able to instill the values of hard work, perseverance, and pride in Puerto Rican heritage.

The Puerto Rican community in the United States has long been underrepresented in various fields, including law. Despite the significant contributions and talents within this community, systemic challenges have limited access to legal education and opportunities within the legal profession.

This scholarship aims to honor Jesus Perez and other individuals who work tirelessly behind the scenes to empower future generations by supporting Puerto Rican students pursuing careers in law.

Any Puerto Rican first-generation high school, undergraduate or graduate student who is pursuing law may apply for this scholarship opportunity.
