James G. Boyd Legacy Scholarship
James G. “Jimmy” Boyd was a beloved brother, uncle, and great-uncle who always loved helping others. He was a proud marine who loved travel and adventure and had a strong passion for sailing. He was always loyal to his family and friends and was a beloved member of his Massachusetts community. He is missed by many.
Jimmy was an electrician who owned his own electrical company, and he would have liked to pay forward to an aspiring electrician. This scholarship seeks to honor Jimmy’s life and memory by supporting students in pursuing the electrical trade.
Any trade school student who is pursuing a career as an electrician and maintains at least a 2.75 GPA may apply for this opportunity if they have financial need and are a U.S. citizen.
To apply, please create a one or two minute video submission explaining why you picked your degree path and your passion in life. Submit a link to your video as a public YouTube link or a Google Drive link. Settings should be sent to "public" or “anyone with this link can view”. If we can’t access your video, your application won’t be considered.

The winner will be publicly announced on Dec 20, 2026. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
