Jacob Goodfriend Memorial Scholarship
Jacob was fun, outgoing, goofy guy with a big heart for others. He was a good friend to everyone and only saw the good in people. He was a loving son, brother, nephew, grandson, and uncle. He played both football and baseball. He played baseball from 3 years old until he graduated high school at 18 years old. Jacob had a love of hunting ducks, deer, and dove, but his true passion was fishing. He loved to spend days out on the water casting a line. I would like to see someone passionate about pursuing a great future for themselves in college and has played sports in high school.
Though Jacob’s life was cut short, his memory lives on through his parents, family, and friends who want his legacy to be preserved among the next generation. Many young students share Jacob’s positive qualities and have high hopes for their futures, but may be in need of financial assistance in order to take the next step and pursue their educational and professional goals.
This scholarship aims to honor the life and memory of Jacob Goodfriend by supporting students who are preparing to embark on their futures.
Any high school senior at DeQuincy High School in Louisiana may apply for this scholarship opportunity. Strong preference will be for students who play sports.
To apply, write a short essay in response to the prompt below.
