International student (studying in the U.S.)

Out-of-state tuition can be very expensive and the current global economy makes paying tuition a challenge, especially for international students.Students coming from other countries to study in the United States are faced with many changes. Not only are they going to a new educational institute, but they also have cultural differences to deal with. Additionally, international students have an economic disadvantage because out-of-state tuition is significantly more expensive than in-state tuition.

As a solution, the International Student Scholarship will help international students studying in the U.S. to cover the cost of tuition during their academic studies.

Undergraduate international students are eligible to apply if they are studying in the United States and are paying out-of-state tuition.

In your application, write about the adversities you have faced while trying to achieve your international education.

Being a global understudy, first of all, and moving to another country all alone is rarely simple. Furthermore, more particularly with no monetary assistance or backing from anybody can be so difficult realizing that you need to try sincerely and apply for grants and work nearby and center around school, can be depleting for an understudy yet assuming that you are a global understudy who is from. An extremely not wealthy country you will try sincerely so you can chronicle your objectives throughout everyday life and be that woman who pursues her fantasies and need to roll out an improvement throughout everyday life. However, tragically the family I come from isn't well monetarily I from an exceptionally low pay family, lost my dad when I was in 6th grade, he had disease and from that point forward my mom has been dealing with me and my other five kin, by her being a house help in various homes. I tried to buckle down in school so I can get passing marks engage in school clubs, for example, science club, banter, games , we could go for contests and I could take part in them my secondary school gave me a grant from ninth grade to twelfth grade, so lengthy I continue to really buckle down in my examinations and that is the way I needed to reduce the weight on my mom for paying school charges and the cash she made to assist with food and covering different bills and for my siblings. Significantly improved valid statements came out second in my group with 6points in Zambian school system I was so glad for I new with my grades, I could push for additional grants to go to college and earn an education subsequent to graduating secondary school in 2017, life turned out to be hard for ourselves and was so energetic about going to school yet my mom became ill, had a halfway stroke and needed to begin working and deal with my kin and her gave a valiant effort. At long last found a new line of work and been working my mum sought some treatment and improved and last year I presently began looking for completely supported grants, which are elusive in the USA andr in my country they don't take training for a young lady kid serious rather in my way of life they trust in early marriage. Furthermore, I don't need that I need to set a model for my kin and my local area and mother to complete school graduate with a degree, So I recently began applying for colleges in the USA either brimming with halfway grants and saw as a large portion of them fractional got acknowledged to four and needed to go with the college I felt like I could fit in. What's more, I could say it hasn't been simple been working so I can have something to eat and pay for my educational cost and different costs. One of my kin attempt to help to a great extent were he can yet being a worldwide understudy not set in stone on what I need in life am making it work I buckle down both in my everyday schedule my work that was given nearby. What's more, need to additional my schooling to turn into a specialist in future on the grounds that am so enthusiastic in assisting individuals and what with having gone through in my experience growing up. in any case, that can occur if you don't mind help me monetarily with a grant it would help me.
Temiloluwa Okelowo

My name is Temiloluwa Okelowo Francis, and I hail from Lagos State, Nigeria in West Africa. I grew up in Lagos state where things aren’t as rosy as they are in the United states. Growing up, a major challenge in the country was stable electricity;. As a young aspiring youth, I became inspired to make a change in my country for good. I aspire to become an electrical engineer in order to solve the electricity shortage problems in my country. I have traveled all the way from West Africa to come to the United States of America to get the best possible education with the hope of acquiring the skills to save my country from this embarrassment. In my quest to gain knowledge that can solve my country’s problem, I have encountered some hurdles like cultural differences, language differences, and most importantly financial restraints. As a foreigner that seeks knowledge, I am required to pay out-of-state tuition which is a great percentage higher than in-state tuition. Although it is understandable that the country regards people like me as tourists or as I say “legal aliens”, I think the difference is a little inconsiderate. For a country like mine whose currency doesn’t mean much in dollars, it will take a lot to pay the out-of-state tuition. Nevertheless, I am passionate about the end goal of bringing uninterrupted power supply to my nation. In Durham Technical community college, I am enrolled in the Associates in Engineering program. I am enrolled in this program because of how passionate I am about solving not just the dominant challenge of my country but also impacting the world with my knowledge. A good way to describe me would be someone who derives pleasure in solving people’s problems and putting a smile on their faces to the best of my ability. After Durham Tech, I plan on going to either North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University or Massachusetts Institute of Technology to study electrical engineering. These schools are appealing to me because they are known to produce the best of the best engineers that the country has to offer. As someone who is interested in solving a country’s challenge, it is imperative that I am groomed by the best. On completion of these goals that I have set for myself, I would love to have a Master’s degree in electrical engineering to solidify my grounds in the field. After all my academic goals have been met, I would head back to my home country Nigeria to begin what I believe I am made to do. This scholarship would greatly help me concentrate on my studies. Given the financial cost of earning degrees and the limitations of working as an international student, it is highly unlikely that I will achieve my dream. There aren’t many scholarships in place for people like me to further our education, so I would be greatly honored if I am awarded this scholarship. This scholarship is one that can make the journey to achieving my dream easier, and perhaps a sign that I am not on the wrong track but on the path to greatness.
