The representation of African American physicians in the U.S. health care workforce has remained stagnant at a mere 5% since the 1970s. To initiate a transformative shift, it is imperative to prioritize greater accessibility and inclusivity in higher education.
This scholarship aims to honor the legacy of Hector L. Minott Sr. by supporting African American students who have overcome obstacles and are pursuing a higher education degree.
Any African American graduate student or undergraduate in their third or fourth year majoring in health sciences or related program pursuing a medical degree may apply for this scholarship.
