Harold Lee Treadway Memorial Scholarship
Harold Lee Treadway was a beloved man who lived an admirable life and demonstrated humility, faith, and devotion.
Harold’s example reminds us that a Godly life is marked not only by hard work and responsibility, but also by love, kindness, and service to others. He was motivated by the Fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
This scholarship seeks to support students who will carry forward Harold Lee Treadway’s values in their own journeys and honor his legacy of Christian love, resilience, and compassion.
Any low-income, Christian high school senior in Tennessee may apply for this scholarship opportunity, but applicants who have been affected by a loved one’s Alzheimer’s are preferred.
To apply, respond to one of the prompts below about the Fruits of the Spirit and legacy, your service to others, and how you have been impacted by Alzheimer’s (if relevant). Additionally, upload an image that symbolizes your past, present, or future.
Option 1: Fruits of the Spirit & Legacy
Choose one of the Fruits of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, or self-control—and reflect on how you hope it will be reflected in your own life and legacy.
Option 2: Service to Others
Tell a story about how you have served your family, your church, or your community. Explain how that experience shaped your character and how you hope to continue living out those values in the future.
If you have been affected by Alzheimer's:
Option 3: Alzheimer’s Impact
Describe how Alzheimer’s disease has touched your life—whether through a family member, friend, or community experience—and share what you’ve learned about compassion, resilience, or faith through that journey.
