Gretchen Arnold was a person who loved photography and was deeply passionate about the craft.

Gretchen worked as an educator to share her excitement for photography with others. Documentary-style photography was a particular interest for Gretchen, as she believed this form was especially effective in fostering community involvement and improving the quality of life.

This scholarship aims to assist young film and photography students on their journey through school and into the workforce.

Any high school senior graduating this year in New York may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they’re pursuing film or photography and if they have non-profit or volunteering experience. Preference will be given to students in Monroe County.

To apply as a photography student, submit a link to your portfolio of at least five images you’ve taken, showing your connection to a subject of personal interest. To apply as a film student, submit a link to your film (or a clip from a film) you have created. Video submissions should be no longer than 5 minutes.

Submit the link to your video or photo portfolio as a public YouTube link or a Google Drive link. Settings should be set to "public" or "anyone with the link can view." If we can't access your video/photos, your application won't be considered.

Additionally, upload your resume.
