Tears are streaming down my face. My hands are being squeezed as tightly as possible by the people around me. My heart stops as the announcers exclaim, “Second in the nation goes to ...” Time freezes. I just won my second national title. Looking back on this fond memory, I think of the hard work and dedication it took for me to achieve this goal. I promised myself that I would never give up and become the best version of myself. Today, I have many more achievements other than this moment, yet I still find myself yearning for more. Winning all-star cheerleading nationals has altered my life in many ways. Not just in my athletic career but within my academic and professional career, teaching me true perseverance and dedication. Additionally, I have truly experienced unconditional love from my teammates during these unique moments. This feeling of success within these special moments has altered my perspective by inspiring me to search for this emotion in other aspects of my life. To begin, I have been very fortunate for most of my life. I have experienced obstacles but nothing significant compared to the struggles of many. One of the biggest challenges that I experienced was a sport injury last year. This injury resulted in me quitting swimming, which was emotionally challenging for me to navigate. Furthermore, it resulted in me being out of school for about two months and cheerleading for three months. In the moment, it was difficult and disheartening. Bu without this, I would not have gained the insights that make me unique. This has caused me to think deeper and set greater goals for myself. Additionally, I have set many goals for myself which contribute to who I am as a person. The first goal I have is to become the best version of myself. Like many others, I have experienced difficulties throughout my life which have brought me to want to better myself. This includes earning a good education, growing in my religion, continuing my commitments to my sports teams, and improving my mental health. I have been working hard to improve these aspects and continue throughout my lifetime. Furthermore, my second goal is to help others. I am actively achieving this goal through coaching younger athletes and teaching swimming lessons for children. I also plan to help others within my career as an attorney. Overall, I have goals involving both myself and others such as becoming the best version of myself and helping others. In conclusion, I have many plans and goals for my future. I plan to graduate from high school, college, and law school to become an attorney. I have goals to become the best version of myself and to help others. I have learned that accomplishments come from hard work and dedication, therefore, I have set plans and goals. This scholarship would allow me to pursue all of my goals which will not be obtainable without financial support. These plans and goals have given me motivation and purpose within my life. As I grow older, plans will deviate and difficulties will arise but because of my experiences I will adapt to be the change I want to see in the world.
