Grace Scheipe Scholarship
Nursing is an incredibly impactful field, directly affecting the level of care patients receive every day.
Requiring both academic excellence and interpersonal skills such as compassion, nursing is not an easy field to enter. The years of education required to become a nurse can be financially inaccessible, discouraging some students from pursuing their goals. In light of a growing shortages of nurses in the U.S., providing financial assistance to aspiring nurses is crucial.
This scholarship honors Grace Scheipe and her family, who are devout Catholics and have lived through struggles leaning on faith. Grace had hopes and dreams of attending Auburn University and pursuing a nursing degree. Grace is fighting everyday to learn to walk and talk again after a traumatic brain injury from a car accident during her junior year of high school. Her mom is committed to educating anyone capable of learning CPR to do so in that others may not have the same outcome. This scholarship honors Grace and her difficult daily fight by providing an education to those who choose nursing.
This scholarship seeks to support students from Catholic high schools who are planning to dedicate their lives to nursing.
Any student at or graduate of a Catholic high school who plans to attend or is currently attending a four-year university may apply for this scholarship if they are involved in sports or other extracurriculars and will be pursuing nursing.
