Mrs. Marion Makins was the beloved matriarch of her family and lived a full and impactful life for ninety years.

Mrs. Makins had an enduring commitment to education, community service, and faith—pillars that defined her character and contributions. She was a lifelong member of Beulah Baptist Church of Deanwood Heights, where she served faithfully, mentoring generations through her wisdom and compassion. As an educator and community advocate, she dedicated her life to uplifting others and believed deeply in the power of education to change lives.

This scholarship aims to honor the legacy of Mrs. Marion Makins by supporting students who exemplify academic excellence, leadership in their communities or churches, and a passion for service.

Any high school senior or undergraduate student who has at least a 2.75 GPA may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they are active in church, community service, or volunteering programs, if they’ve demonstrated financial need, and if they’re a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

To apply, tell us how you embody a life of service and how you will use your education to serve others.
