Fans of Olandria Carthen Black Women Excellence Scholarship

Olandria Carthen is a first-generation college graduate, a Tuskegee University HBCU alum, a savvy businesswoman, and a mentor and inspiration to Black women across the world.

Education is the cornerstone of opportunity, and every individual, regardless of socioeconomic status or background, deserves the chance to learn, grow, and succeed. Marginalized African American communities often face systemic barriers to educational access. The resulting financial obstacles prevent so many bright students from pursuing their academic goals, exploring their passions, and realizing their full potential.

This scholarship aims to create equitable educational pathways that uplift entire communities, foster economic mobility, and inspire generations to come.

Any Black female high school senior who is low-income and a first-generation college student may apply for this scholarship. 

The ideal candidate demonstrates resilience, determination, and an unwavering commitment to creating a better future for herself and her community, despite facing significant economic hardship. She is driven by a passion for entrepreneurship, a desire to turn bold ideas into action, and a deep-rooted belief in the power of social justice. Through access to educational opportunities and support systems, she aspires not only to rise above her current circumstances but to become a change-maker and someone who uses her voice, talents, and vision to challenge inequities and inspire transformative impact in the world around her.

To apply, tell us about a problem you would solve if you could build a company to improve life for today’s youth and how you would put your plan into motion.
