Edward A. Boudjouk was a beloved father who held the Academy of Building Industries in great esteem for its mission to prepare students for opportunities and careers outside of college.

Edward did not graduate from high school, but instead dropped out after eighth grade to become an electrician's apprentice. While he was very successful in his field, he definitely would have pursued more education had a school like AOBI existed in his youth. Edward firmly believed in the dignity, value, and importance of skilled trades. Even though his educational path was different from what is available to students today, he never stopped valuing learning and personal growth.  He believed that those who work with their hands and minds to build, repair, and create deserve tremendous respect.

This scholarship seeks to honor the legacy of Edward A. Boudjouk by supporting outstanding students who plan to pursue a career in the skilled trades and reminding them that determination, integrity, and pride in one's work can create opportunities for a lifetime.

Any high school senior at the Academy of Building Industries in Arizona may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they plan to pursue a career in the skilled trades, such as but not limited to automotive, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, welding, HVAC, cosmetology, utilities, farming/agriculture, firefighting, or EMT/paramedic services.

To apply, tell us why you are pursuing your field of choice, what this career path means to you, and what unique experiences sparked your interest in the field. Additionally, upload at least one letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or employer who can speak directly to your character, work ethic, and dedication to your chosen field.
