Dr. Kevin L. Rhodes Scholarship
Rising college expenses have made it increasingly difficult for students from impoverished or even modest financial backgrounds to afford to pursue their degrees.
Financial aid and grants are very limited and often don’t go far enough, covering some students with exceptional need but leaving out many students whose families make too much to qualify but also not enough to send them to school without debt. Unless a student has truly exceptional grades or athletic talent, they often have nowhere else to turn but loans.
This scholarship aims to support students who need help paying for college but are often excluded from other aid opportunities.
Any high school senior in Ralls County, Missouri, or current undergraduate student in Ralls County or Marion County may apply for this scholarship opportunity if they have financial need. However, applicants at Mark Twain High School, homeschoolers, and students at Hannibal LaGrange College (especially those pursuing nursing or religious majors) are preferred.
