The New Freedmen's Clinic is a student-run free clinic that is looking to invest in the next generation of students.
Many high school students are working tirelessly to prepare for college. From taking advanced classes to studying for standardized tests to participating in sports or extracurricular activities, students can demonstrate their potential in many ways. Unfortunately, no matter how dedicated or motivated a student is, financial barriers can stand in their way.
This scholarship aims to support students attending public school by helping them afford the next steps in their education.
Any high school sophomore, junior, or senior attending a public school in Washington, D.C., may apply for this scholarship opportunity. The ideal applicant demonstrates perseverance, curiosity, and a commitment to their education and community. Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
