This scholarship seeks to support high-achieving students who are preparing to leave high school and pursue their college studies.

Any high school student in Georgia who is a U.S. citizen with at least a 2.75 GPA may apply for this scholarship opportunity.

Public School Systems are usually accessible to most students, often offering a wide array of programs, especially in larger districts. However, the quality can vary depending on funding and location. If a state offers diverse learning option whether AP classes, dual enrollment with colleges, or a strong network of vocational training students can explore their interests in-depth at an earlier stage. This can guide their future career decisions. For my future goals, if I were to shape them based on available opportunities, I might focus on continuing education through online courses or specialized certifications in areas I am passionate about. Expanding my network by seeking mentorship from those who have paved the way in my field. Staying adaptable in my career by considering both traditional education and non-traditional paths like apprenticeships, boot camps, or creative ventures. While some states offer a range of high-quality educational programs, others suffer from underfunding, leading to larger class sizes, outdated resources, and fewer extracurriculars. A solution would be to increase the funding and resources for schools in economically disadvantaged areas. Not all students are interested in traditional college routes, but they often don't have access to vocational training programs that might prepare them for fulfilling careers. Increasing the number and diversity of these opportunities can provide students with alternatives that match their interests. Education is not only about academics but also about personal growth. Many students face mental health challenges, which can hinder their academic success. Offering better resources and mental health support in schools could drastically improve overall student well-being and outcomes. In our increasingly digital world, access to online learning resources can be crucial. While online programs are growing, not all students have equal access to these opportunities. States could improve online education offerings, ensuring they are equitable and widely available. Many of the programs that my school provided really helped me get further along with my academic journey. I was able to take dual enrollment classes which helped me to get an experience of college professors and how they operate. Even though my school isn’t a large populated school and didn’t get very much funding they provided many different programs to our students that would help us decide on different career paths to choose. To improve the educational landscape, states should not just focus on traditional academic achievement but also on creating flexible, inclusive, and diverse opportunities that cater to the various needs and ambitions of students. Education should empower people to pursue a wide range of interests, whether academic, vocational, or creative, and provide support for every step of the journey.

When will the scholarship winner be chosen? How will they be notified?

The winner will be publicly announced on May 22, 2026. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.

How will the scholarship award be paid?

Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.

How will my scholarship application be verified?

Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
