Brian Moore Memorial Scholarship
Brian Moore was a passionate engineer with a master's degree who was taken too soon by leukemia.
Brian was known for his dedication to helping others and his passion for building a better future. He had a deep love for the challenging and innovative field of engineering. During his health struggles, Brian’s experience was deeply shaped by the profound compassion and skill of the medical professionals who cared for him.
This scholarship seeks to honor the life of Brian Moore by supporting the next generation of compassionate caregivers and driven innovators.
Any high school senior, undergraduate, or graduate student in Florida or Texas who is pursuing healthcare or engineering with at least a 3.0 GPA may apply for this scholarship opportunity. Applicants must not only excel academically but also demonstrate the empathy vital to healthcare and the creative drive essential to engineering.

1) The "Legacy" Question: Inspired by Brian's nickname, the mission of our scholarship is to help students "B Moore." In 500 words or less, please tell us how you plan to "Be More" in your chosen field of medicine or engineering. How will you use your education to create a lasting, positive impact on others?
2) The "Inspiration" Question: Describe a specific moment or experience that solidified your decision to pursue a career in medicine or engineering. Who or what inspired you, and how do you plan to pay that inspiration forward in your career?

The winner will be publicly announced on Jul 27, 2026. Prior to the announcement date, we may contact finalists with additional questions about their application. We will work with donors to review all applications according to the scholarship criteria. Winners will be chosen based on the merit of their application.
Award checks will be sent to the financial aid office of the winner's academic institution or future academic institution in their name to be applied to their tuition, and in the name of their institution (depending on the school's requirements). If the award is for a qualified educational non-tuition expense, we will work with the winner directly to distribute the award and make sure it goes towards qualified expenses.
Before we award the scholarship, the winner will be required to confirm their academic enrollment status. Depending on the circumstances, verification of Student ID and/or their most recent transcript will be required.
