Our goal
This fund will be used to raise money for an annual scholarship awarded to the winner of the "young hockey leaders" scholarship. This scholarship is intended to recognize the leadership and community building impact of a deserving varsity hockey player in IL.
Mentorship is vital in nurturing and encouraging the next generation of young hockey players and helping them grow into leaders within our communities.
Highschool can be an incredibly busy time as students think about their next steps and prepare to embark on their futures. With all of the stress of college applications, graduation, and other responsibilities, many seniors don’t think to find time for giving back and lifting up younger student athletes looking for role models to shape themselves after.
This scholarship aims to thank and reward exceptional hockey players who have chosen to share their time, passion, and leadership skills with young hockey players.
Any high school senior who will attend a two or four-year university, military boot camp, or trade school may apply for this scholarship if they’re a hockey player who has taught, mentored, or otherwise helped younger hockey players. Applicants should demonstrate initiative, creativity, and leadership qualities. Applicants must be attending Libertyville High School, Vernon Hills High School, Stevenson High School, or Carmel Catholic High School in Illinois.
