Our goal

This fund is in memory of my husband William Smith, also known as Billy. I lost him in June of 2023 due to a horrific vehicle accident. He was my best friend and the love of my life, and I am making it my life’s mission to keep his spirit and memory alive. Billy was a very talented musician playing mostly drums and acoustic guitar. He travelled the country playing music with multiple bands, and put on a lot of solo shows where it was just him and his guitar. Billy was also a talented song writer and wrote many original songs that he would perform at his shows. Music was in his soul. My goal for this fund is to help students, specifically aspiring musicians, that have the same passion for music as Billy did be able to go to a music school and pursue their dreams. If this fund is able to help one student in Billy’s name, my mission will be complete!

Donating in honor of my beloved nephew, Billy Smith, whose musical talent was revealed at his grandparents home in Tallahassee, Florida. He was about six years old when stood at the fireplace and belted out a rock n roll song he had made up called “Shadow” — we’ve never forgotten it!

Billy was like a brother to me. We grew up together in Kentucky. He was in my wedding and I was in his. We've lived together. I was friends with him as a kid when he picked up drumsticks for the first time in our friend's basement in middle school. I will always carry so many memories of our friendship and him growing as a person and his passion for music. It's wonderful to see his influence live on after him.

Billy was a good friend back in high school, we always had fun jamming together. I was sorry to hear of his passing, what a great way to celebrate his memory. Rock on.
