Our story
Vincent McKinney was a beautiful, kind, and loving soul who saw the best in others. His passions were music and football. He was an accomplished athlete in high school and college. He was also an accomplished academic, graduating as the valedictorian of his high school class and Magna Cum Laude with a 4.0 and a BS degree in psychology. His sense of humor was infectious and he was wickedly intelligent, moving to NYC and obtaining his Series 7 License as a stockbroker within 7 days. He was always passionate about being positive and supporting others, believed in the power of knowing and understanding yourself, and was adamant about reaching for excellence.
Stephanie Hudgins was a beautiful, creative spirit that only knew how to do everything big, and that's how she loved. Her laughter and quirky sense of humor were infectious, and her heart was as great as her imagination and talent. The owner of "Doll Faced Beauty" she frequently worked as a hair and clothing stylist, and makeup artist in the Colorado beauty scene. She loved watching comedies and dancing. She was the social butterfly and enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family. She was raised in both Lincoln, Nebraska and Denver, Colorado and is survived by her sister Tyra, April, Alicia, and second Mother Paula, and many adoring cousins. Her mother Cheryl McKinney, Father Steve Hudgins and cousin Vincent McKinney preceded her in death. She will be forever and lovingly remembered. She also believed in helping others, and supported everyone in reaching their dreams and this scholarship fund will help her memory and heart to live on.
Our goal
Vincent was an aspiring mental health professional and Stephanie believed in self improvement and giving to others. I want to create a scholarship that memorializes their love of helping others and supports excellence in mental health support services, emergency needs and support and mental health education.
