Alphonso W. Reed began his career in the military, focusing on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. After serving for twenty years in the United States Air Force, Alphonso retired with extensive experience in the field, which helped him launch his own HVAC company. Trade certification can open up similar opportunities for others, allowing students to hone their crafts, start their own businesses, and earn a good living while serving their neighbors and communities. This scholarship aims to empower students to obtain trade certificates or degrees so they can take charge of their futures and make a difference through their careers.
